Swapped my antibiotics but now i'm scared to take them.

Got penicillin based ones for a sinus and chest infection on Monday. Took one and spent the next several hours with severe D&V.

They have now swapped them for erythromycin which I have had before and just had mild diohrea with, but I am scared that I will be really sick again too.

I feel so rough already and i have 2 ten hour days at work left this week so I am unsure what to do.

Well, your infection won't get better while you are not taking the treatment.

But, erm, erythromicin are pretty famous for causing side effects too runs away

Yeh i know Moaningminge, and D&V is first on the list.

I think i might wait to start taking them until friday night when I get home.

Ask for a phone appt and explain they are making you ill.
Get tetracycline or doxycycline instead.

I can't take either because they make me puke. But if you've had erythromycin before and it just caused mild runs, then perhaps try them again. I think if you can't take them then it will be obvious pretty quickly in which case I'd do what Badvoc suggests and phone GP and tell them you need something else. Good luck. Hope you feel better soon
