My dog/puppy has just scratched me in the eye, very painful!

Should i be worried?

He just jumped on my lap and pawed my face (something i have been trying to teach him to stop), got me in my eye and it was very painful , still hurting now but not as bad, vision is a bit blury. Will it be ok or should i get it looked at? i often get eye infections so i'm worried it will cause another one.

I should get it looked at asap. Dogs have lots of bacteria on their paws which should not be in your eye and if the surface is actually scratched, it might easily become infected.

It feels much better now, i have some eye drops here (as i had a infection last week) so will use them until i can get it checked on monday by my GP, i can see ok out of it now, its just a little blood shot on one side.

You might need your cornea checking as it could be injured from the scratch.
