how old ? Piriton is only for 12months plus so if younger you'd need a prescription one. Also tepid baths in a teaspoon or two of bicarb of soda.

Twiglett · 17/05/2006 13:53

or tepid baths run through a sock filled with oats

Auntymandy · 17/05/2006 13:58

My one year old has them & am at wits end. Both older boys had them & managed fine but this time it seems much worse spots everywhere, never seen so many. Using full whack of piriton, calpol & brufen. He doesn't want to be picked up, put down, cuddled, left alone, or anything! Seems v. itchy on head & ears & we are pouring calamine on like shampoo. Will try oats in bath, is the water just run through them? You dont actually put the oats in the water?
Any advise on how to help him eat or take a bottle? Inside of his mouth has loads of them & he seems in a lot of pain.
HELP no sleep worth speaking of since Mon night, how long do chicken pox last? (that explains the rambling!)

I put the oats in a sock!! then put the sock in the bath,
