need to know urgently which online pharmacy is ok?

I have been begging gp for a prescription for ds2 (1) for some dairy free formula milk (he has cmp allergy) but they refuse to prescribe untill he has seen consultant (could be weeks).

I asked (begged) for a pres in meantime for aptamil pepti or neocate to use till appt comes through as I'm still bf but exhausted and he won't tolerate soya.
They refused and said I could buy it online but I'm nervous of ordering in case I pick a dodgy website and end up with something that isn't the genuine product.

Does anybody use an online pharmacy? Which one is a reliable and genuine one ?

have you tried asking in Boots or a local pharmacy and see if they would order it in for you without a prescription?

I will try tomorrow as am desperate for a rest, thankyou. Hopefully they will order a tin, i only want to give maybe 1-2 feeds a day of it as ive got to rock bottom and am literally drained.

I've used Chemist Direct quite a few times. They are very good and the delivery is swift, HTH.

neocate is v expensive!

I use Chemist Direct too. I've found them very good. You can buy Neocate without a prescription, but some chemists might need to order it in for you - takes a day or so.

So sorry this is happening. DD was diagnosed as CMP allergic at 3 weeks. It's tough .

Neocate is a completely synthesised formula. However, your DS Might be OK on something like Nutramigen, which although it is cows milk based has been so highly processed that the majority of CMP allergic babies are fine with it. Partly because Nutramigen is much cheaper than Neocate (something like £14 for a 400g tin, as opposed to £35) doctors usually prescribe it as a first attempt at a solution. Point of telling you this is that it might be worth trying DS on Nutramigen. And to forewarn you that the consultant might want to try Nutramigen first.

I wouldn't bother trying soya (and you have cut it out of your diet too?) - lots of CMP allergic kids are also sensitive to soya.

DD started on Nutramigen, and initially was much better, before getting worse and then switching to Neocate at 7 weeks. Once we got her onthe Neocate she was like a different child and she's still happily on it at 2.5 yrs.

Both ds1 and dd2 had neocate but hv said its worth a try with the aptamil pepti as its the most palatable.

I'm so angry at gp. We can't afford to buy it online really and I am desperately tired and run down due to rubbish diet and being underweight and I need to feed ds2 something else. We also need to be able to leave him sometimes with a family member as dd2 often rushed into hospital due to medical conditions and I'd feel so much happier knowing I had a formula he could take if needed to.

All the gp seemed bothered about was waiting for this appt and I can't wait weeks I'm exhausted now but can't cut back on bf with no alternative for ds!
I had a look at pharmacy 2u but 1 small tin of pepti is 12pounds. Why couldn't gp just give me a prescription

Ds1 has neocate advance, I'm tempted to give some to ds2 but not sure if itd be too rich for him he has only just turned 1 and has other health issues so don't want to give him wrong thing I'd rather use a formula at first for babies.

if you are going to be breastfeeding most of the time then could you use something like oat milk/almond milk/coconut milk, etc alongside the bf as a drink while you wait for your referral

I've ordered some coconut milk as ds2 reacted to the alpro 1+ I tried (crying, tummy ache, wind) which although isn't as bad as his reaction to cows milk (hives and vomiting) I still don't want to make him uncomfortable.

Its just so hard to keep myself well lately I'm so run down and tired but want to bf as much as I can but could really do with ds taking something else as well.
