Painfull Verruca

I have a verruca on the ball of my foot that has been there for almost 6 years. I have tried just about everything to get rid of it because its affecting the way I walk. I am now going to have it "cauterised" . Has anyone had this done and if so did it work and how painful was it.

Yes, I had one removed by the doctor. It was big, and painful to walk on. It was bloody painful to get removed (sorry) and painful for several days afterwards (sorry again). But needed to be done. And it did work and it has never recurred.
