Does anyone know if this cough medicine is useful to babies. My ds is 7.5 mo old and suffered a cold and cough for a month now and just getting worse. Doc says not infection just virus. Nothing seems to help. Any info greatly appreciated.

sanatogen viatmins are better, they are meltus(glycerol) with vitamins.
Steam inhilations. raising the matress. methol crystals n the room beside her cot.
Also put her accross your knee and gentlypat her back before and after her bath to help 'loosten' things in her chest .

kipper22 - did you use the karvol capsules or the Karvol plug in thing? Will get the Sanatogen vitamins. I thought Meltus didn't contain glycerol - but something else?

we used the drops (same as the capsules i suppose) on a muslin at the other end of the cot. also went for the cheaper boots option of vitamins and they are brilliant - really seem to keep the colds dh & i have had at bay.

Ahh yes thie main ingredient in meltus is acetic acid....vinager.
think I would rather use vitamins to be honest!!
