I have milky way type things in my cupboard if that's any help gig
My current favourite car singing along (on my own that is) cd is the sound track of Juno - I alternate that with Emmy the Great- I kind of measure out my journey to Basingstoke by tracks.

Ooh topsy ikea biscuits are amazing too. The ones with the chocolate or the jam in the middle. I think they're called Ballerina biscuits but may have made that up! Grin either way biscuits please Biscuit hope you and HND have fun in all the little show houses!

I am super excited as today there is meeting in the town where I get my treatment to decide if they should set up a support group, just a general cancer one, so I'm going along to show my support. Typically I had a very bad night and my skin is completely raw so having trouble walking Hmm I shan't let that stop me though!

MAS if you think beetroot wee is bad... Beetroot colour appears to be digested in your colon so when you don't have a colon it can give a nasty fright! Shock I hope T enjoyed Wicked, I've heard lots of good things about it and also now have the song in my head! Grin

sparkle sorry about your boob :( sounds like the oncs have a pretty solid plan though. I'd definitely take all the anti sickness you can get, it may get worse in subsequent cycles - mine has. Not to freak you out as it's perfectly well managed by my drugs so rarely causes any problems. Is it ondansetron they are giving you?

gigs hope you had a restful night.

notJ good luck with house viewing, hope it's lovely and that you get a buyer soon.

Have a lovely day everyone!

topsyturner · 24/04/2013 10:10

What ? No horse meatballs Gigs ???

I use Abba - Greatest Hits for housework .
Something about Bjorn just gets me motivated GrinGrinGrin

topsyturner · 24/04/2013 10:12

X post Ash

KurriKurri · 24/04/2013 10:33

Morning all - calm day vibes to Gig - hopefully if they can help you get the pain better controlled, you will feel calmer - I'll get DD to play something calming later when she get up - a bit of debussy or something Smile

Grin at asparagus wee copt, - it's vile isn't it? - I don't remember having it before I had chemo, - now even an asparagus cup-a-soup makes me stinky in the wee department.

Sparkle - good that you like your team, but must have come as a bit of a shock about possible mastectomy - give yourself a little time to get your head round it. I know it's about the reality of the cancer hitting home, but on a practical level they can do pretty amazing things in the way of reconstruction nowadays if you feel you want to go down that route.

Glad T is back safe and sound MAS - bet he had a great time, he'll have loved the singing.

NJ - enjoy your viewing - do you mind me asking what the housing market is like in your neck of the woods atm? - my Mum has been trying to sell for ages and no luck (but I hasten to add her house needs a fair amount of work done on it, so she needs buyers with plenty of extra cash which may be the reason) Hope yours sells soon Smile

Have fun in IKEA topsy and HND, don't spend too much Grin

I kept waking up all night drenched in sweat and with shooting pains in my armpit - which is probably to do with the virus I have - but has also made me a bit paranoid. I have lost five pounds since Saturday on the flu diet - I knew there had to be an upside!

Old lady dog is snuggled up with me, she is dreaming she is chasing a big dog so is giving little yelps and waving her feet, and, at what was presumably the moment when she caught the dream dog, a little nervous fart Grin

waving to all

KurriKurri · 24/04/2013 10:36

x-post asho - a support group would be a great thing, I'm sure you could give them lots of pointers on what is needed for young people dealing with cancer. Sorry your skin is sore again Sad - hope it clears up soon.

AshokanFarewell · 24/04/2013 11:07

Grin at old lady dog and her nervous farting!!

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/04/2013 11:31

yes, support group sounds a v good idea !
I need some of those Swedish liquorice laces please topsy and hnd
Ok, back to drawing Santa Clauses

Grr I got involved in helping with some voluntary stuff which ex's family are also involved in, as a favour to them. The person supervising the project I am working on isn't family and has given me all the instructions but is now away over the deadline so I need to hand final result over to one of ex's family. He is now insisting on a meeting to discuss it. Really not what I need right now but deadline is next Friday and I'm starting chemo again on Weds so would rather get it over with this week... Never ever again! :)

smee · 24/04/2013 11:55

NotJ, that's great news. Hooray for you! Smile

HND, that nurse sounded shocking. Hope she realised how much she'd hurt you. Must be annoying to have to keep the pump. I've got a similar op to in June. My surgeon calls it the 'fat machine'. clearly v.state of the art and high tech Grin

Sad about losing your breast, Sparkle. I've lost both of mine and it's honestly not so bad in a way. Helps me to think of it as giving me better chance of no recurrence. Ask anything about it all though, fair few of us have been there and it's a lot to get your head round. xx

Hope support group gets going, Ash and you're not too sore. Wishing you a better night of sleep tonight. Smile

Kurri, 5lbs since Saturday?! My that's a lot. Shooting pains, etc all due to virus. I get them the minute I have a bug too. Grin at old lady dog, though possibly not the best aid to recovery to have a farty dog next to you.

Will stick myself down on paranoia box for you, topsy. Hope you and HND don't buy the whole of IKEA. We love the ginger biscuits. Can't remember what they're called - v.thin and tons in a box. Smile

Am sending soothing vibes for Gig. Must be boring having no visitors. Am assuming DS not included in that?

Has the day made you less anxious about book, MAS. I always get more stressed about things at night. Not at all sure why. Confused

Epic post and have missed lots am sure. Hope everyone's well and feeling spring-like. Sunny here, makes such a difference. Ska here for housework. Not at all sure why, but you can't help but smile listening to it. Smile

Gigondas · 24/04/2013 12:14

It's actually ok without visitors- listening to music , reading and chilling.

sparklesunshine · 24/04/2013 12:50

Funny, I've had blue and green wee from the sentinel node dye and red wee from the epirubicin, so I just need some beetroots to have a full rainbow. Smile

I know it's the best thing, just feeling odd about loosing parts of my body. Plus, how shirts will fit etc. I don't think I want more surgery right away I replace it. It's all a long way away anyway...

Gigondas · 24/04/2013 13:02

Blue weeEnvy

Wonder what hnd and topsy have bought.

smee · 24/04/2013 13:13

Sparkle, the reconstruction or not thing is hard to call, but you could go for an implant as that's not such a big deal in terms of surgery. My surgeon talked me into it, as she said it's easier to wake up from the op with some shape. I did it mainly because my son was quite small and thought it wouldn't be so shocking for him. There's pros and cons about all of this though. Can natter about it all if it helps. Smile

Glad to hear you're okay, Gigs. Have they said you're more level now?

topsyturner · 24/04/2013 13:52

Smee I love a bit of ska !
Are you a Northern Soul fan too by any chance ???

Back from Ikea !
I bought - wait for it - a small glass bowl candle holder !
It's for my mil , who wants a replacement sugar bowl .
Bizarre sounding I know , but it's just right as a sugar bowl !!!

Anyhow , have an extra couple of hours free till the DC get home . DD has netball practice today and won't be home till 4 .
DS doesn't get home till 4.30 .

I may nap ...

topsyturner · 24/04/2013 13:53

I had red wee after FEC chemo Grin

smee · 24/04/2013 14:12

OOh yes, Topsy. Adore a bit of that too. We could dance up a storm. Nap more important though. Grin

KurriKurri · 24/04/2013 14:19

Ooh love a bit of Ska and two tone -

I'm going to earworm you all now - DD has just been playing - she's doing it with her children's choir - I can't stop singing it so now I'm going to make you all suffer too mwah mwah mwah

Gigondas · 24/04/2013 14:23

Where is the link kurri?

KurriKurri · 24/04/2013 14:28

Click on the word 'this' in my post Gigs (if that doesn't work it's 'You've Got a friend in Me' from Toy Story - but shshh don't tell anyone Grin)

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/04/2013 14:40

aw I love that song...I don't have to hear songs to get them running through my head...
hope you're feeling much better soon kk - I like the sound of 5lbs weight loss (having just scoffed some mini Twirls)
Just had a surprise visit by some old friends which was v nice indeed. Also started a few illustrations for the new book,so easing myself in-the starting bit is always the hardest.
E mail from one of my secondaries friends- she has now got tumours on her ovaries (she has bone mets-which are doing well with capecitabine) - poor love.
Bcn has suggested meeting up for coffee on Friday which will be good,I hope..I feel a bit awful for not waiting until my next chemo appointment, but it always feels a bit rushed after seeing the onc. so maybe coffee and chat is easier.
gig I think I'd quite enjoy the no visitors thing for a bit Smile
smee those are Anna biscuits and are yum.

MAS - I enjoyed that link Smile
Sorry about your friend - bloody disease Sad

I think meeting your BCN will be very good idea - over a nice coffee - it's easier to chat away from clinical environment.

Don't be too impressed with weight loss - it is purely because I have eaten nothing, I will probably put it back on in even less time once I get back to normal.

I had look at the site where you got your tops - they have some lovely things on there - I may save up and treat myself Smile

topsyturner · 24/04/2013 15:20

Posted a link on Facebook for you as I can't figure out how to post it here !
If anyone can post it from fb to here I would be endlessly grateful ...
