HND - you had me confused - I was looking for your post too - Your boob news sounds as if progress is definitely being made in the right direction, - but these things seem to take so long don't they, - I can imagine you are pretty sick of the pump by now

Hope BP has stabilized now Gigs and you are feeling OK.

Am still feeling a bit rough - slightly better than yesterday, but not great.

Was posting to say that I got hurt at the Tissue Viability Nurse appointment today. The heavy handed nurse forced a drain with FAR too much gauze into my boob and caused a lot of bleeding and pain. I had to ask her ( after i had got to my car and realised how flipping painful it was) to remove it and redress it. Feeliing a bit sore and sorry for myself at the moment :(

Bp but heart rate still a concern cos of anxiety and pain so are suggesting no visitors etc. just got to try and relax

HND argh re the pain and bleeding. What sort of bleeding nurse was that, eh? Grr.

gigs imagine you are on a peaceful beach with the sound of the sea ......imagine Katherine Jenkins is in a big hole in the sand and you are gently placing spade upon spade of sand in the hole to bury her.....that should bring your blood pressure down.

Well my onc said that the scan showed cells in my neck as expected but no spread elsewhere. My next scan is at the end of September ( timed not to disrupt my birthday ) and if all the neck cells have gone I won't need another treatment.
After that I will be monitored with regular blood tests and only scanned if the bloods are worrying. If all is ok I will be down to yearly blood tests after about 4 years but will have the yearly tests for life.

ned and I had a lovely lunch and has some 1st class people watching sights including a much face lifted lady drinking champagne with her spoiled Westie, a naked lady and a lady taking her toy boy out for his birthday. We were discussing the much anticipated piss up and hope we can arrange a date soon.

Off to bed now as I did not sleep well last night.

At my last hospital stay , Macmillan had organised people to come on the wards and give hand and arm massages to patients .
That would be relaxing .

Project now has trenches , barbed wire , bomb craters , soldiers , and sandbags .
It has to be handed in on Friday , so not too much longer for me to get all itchy teethed about not being able to tidy up

Jealous of all you peeps over there that have had gorgeous weather today .
I've already had the usual phone call from my sister telling me it was 22 degrees in London today

Got my 3 monthly CT apt in the post today . It's on the 9th of May .
Then it will be the usual 2 week wait to get an apt for the results .
Sigh , that's the next 4 weeks with my arse firmly planted on the paranoia box !

I watched the very excellent NHS thingy this evening- the whole thing has been great but tonight's was about cancer treatments at The Christie in Manchester and a woman being given deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's -that was quite miraculous. Was rather shocked that Jeremy Hunt visiting the Christie seemed a bit clueless about chemo- surely you'd do a bit of research ?
Dh waiting up for the phone call to alert him that T is nearing home - poor love will have to collect him at about midnight...am going to slink off to my bed.
Am panicking slightly about new joke book - silly I know.

Good plan about knife. But to balance out lovely nanny told me she is pregnant- this has cheered me up (she will be a lovely mum and is planning on coming back).

I will do shift on box. I suppose one of minimal upside on all this is I got spared 3 month hell this month.

Gigs do you have some nice calming music you can listen to? - it's not surprising your body is reacting a bit to all the stress you've had. And try not to worry about big Gig, being naughty and acting up a bit while you are away shows that she's a very normal little girl, just trying to sort it all out in her head

Last night I fell asleep to Lee Mack on Never mind the Buzzcocks at 3 in the morning, laughter and some really rather disgusting humour definitely did the trick.

hnd Sorry you got a Nurse Ratchett, did she have that dead behind the eyes look? slightly affected gentile faux caring monotone voice ? as she reeked havoc? they teach them all that at the Ratchett School of Nursing...... but it does sound as if you have a plan and a completed boob at the end of it. Just think how amazing it will be to get rid of that pump. If you need any more fat to get that perfect look I have some to donate. Given how wimpy I have been about black and blue back of hand and "ooo betty" down under (still sore) I don't think I'm up for stuffing myself a new boob anytime soon

What has been anyone's experience of Lymphedema. Does it always swell or just ache. Have had achey arm all day, I did go a bit wild in the sun in the garden...........

Budge up on paranoia box for good paranoia story . Panicked earlier because my wee smelt really revolting, of course it was my liver, in an advanced state of decomposition...... guilty conscience Vaguely remember similar smell on other occasions. Only just put two and two together. Rather a large portion of asparagus for dinner Perhaps we should blame asparagus for all aches, pains, smells and general paranoia.

Copt - hilarious about the asparagus. If only all our worries were so benign.

NotIenkins - hooray for good results!

Mine was a mixed bag today. The team seem really good, if a little drug happy. I'll have 7 magic injections as standard each round, plus an extra anti nausea even though I was only nauseous the first day. They do have epirubicin and they might want to add the F for the next 2 rounds as well. They'll also send me for genetic testing, although the results may not be available for a year. Downside is the redness and texture I noticed right before I started chemo (when I could feel the tumour growing) might mean it became inflammatory and I'll definitely loose my whole boob plus probably need radiation. I've been saying I'd be ok with that but still feel sad it's become a bit more real. It's very strange to have this chemo period where I essentially know its going. What's the phrase - dead man standing? That's my breast.

Amber, happy to take a turn on the box. Hope you get some peace as well. And gig too. And probably us all!

At asparagus wee- I had massive panic once when saw pink wee then remembered had beetroot. That blog is very amusing.

Good morning from me, throwing asparagus and soft boiled eggs on the trolley so we can all have smelly wee together.

I am about to start that daily marathon of lunch boxes and school run with added shouting then off to view a house. I love viewing houses but fear I will love this and we may not eat it unless we get a buyer soon.

Sparkle It does take some getting used to the idea of losing a boob but the reality is not as bad as the thoughts especially as once it has gone bad your relationship with your boob changes anyway. I just wanted rid of the thing. However do stick around to share feelings and worries, I think we have just about every variation of boobiness . Glad you are reassured by your new team .

Once I knew "this thing" was growing in my boob , I just wanted it gone .
It did make me gulp a bit when I first saw myself after surgery . But it's something you get used too .
