MAS good news about the blood. You have nothing to feel guilty about but I totally understand.

Hope gigs has had a good day, wonderful news that you're out of ICU. I hope the rowdiness on the balcony is not toooo distracting Grin

smee wine bar sounds fun! I've got no plans this weekend, my sister went back to uni today :( and I've spent most of the day in bed because someone seemingly snuck in during the night and replaced all my limbs with lead ones Hmm so I'm in bed watching a film and about to start on a new knitting project! Grin

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening :)

NedSchneebly · 19/04/2013 22:29

Just had a bath with ipad propped up beside the tub and Michael mcintyre DVD on. He is my new discovery - very amusing if you've not come across him...

Just popping on to catch up with gig update - thanks mrgigs for keeping us so well informed. Sending you huge love gigs my lovely - great news all done in one go, and excellent that they've sprung you from ITU.

MAS so sorry you're struggling with everything at the moment, my lovely. I guess you just take life a bit at a time and rejoice that you feel well and celebrate the fun things that you do. Maybe that sounds trite - I don't mean it to at all. I can't imagine what you mets ladies go through - much love and the utmost respect to you gig and topsy x x x x x

Must go to sleep - have taken sleeping drugs and can feel myself fuzzing over. Will catch up properly on everything tomorrow.

Lots of love and hugs to everyone - you are all amazing x x x x x

Sometimesiwonder · 19/04/2013 23:17

Hey MAS you did we'll today my lovely. Celebrate the great bloods and don't sweat anything else. And def don't over analyse. You are doing great.

Hugs to gigs and mr gigs - am so glad you are back in the lap of luxury and I have quite selflessly drunk quite a bit of wine to celebrate your return to the real world. Sleep well.

Weekend plans - Roxy Music tribute band if he looks like Bryan back in the 80s I may pass out and more work.

Have a great weekend y'all. X

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/04/2013 00:18

Thanks lovelies for encouraging messages- I need to put mindfulness into practice - far too much dwelling is going on Smile
Had a nice time at the Pampered Chef evening and was v restrained and only bought some chopping board things for dh- I can see how easy it'd be to spend a fortune - v nice banana and cinnamon pudding made and wine drunk.
Lots of love to you all xxxxxxxx

jchocchip · 20/04/2013 06:08

Pampered chef evening sounds nice. What I really need to do is sort out the kitchen drawers so that its easy to find things. Blush
Hope you all but esp gigs and mrgigs got some sleep.

Fed the cat who doesn't understand about Saturday lie ins . Any nice plans for today? Will put a Brew on :)

topsyturner · 20/04/2013 08:42

Ooh Bryan Ferry - swoon ...

Mas you are definitely allowed down days ! You've got a lot of shit to deal with .
The trick is not allowing the down days to out weigh the up ones !

Plans for my weekend ?
At the moment , going back to sleep (as soon as I've managed to persuade myself to go for a pee before I wet the bed) as DD had a temp and a sore tummy all night .
She landed in my bed about midnight
DH decamped to the sofa .
DD and I played iPad games for 4 hours whilst rubbing her sore tummy ...

And then (as if life wasn't rock and roll enough) its a trip to the supermarket !
DD wants yoghurts (with lumps of fruit please) and risotto .
DS wants to go to the craft store . He has a diorama to make for a homework project , and he NEEDS , large blocks of sponge apparently ...
(I frequently find its best not to ask too many questions)

MrGigs · 20/04/2013 10:41

On the way in to see Gigs, I do hope she likes her present...

Copthallresident · 20/04/2013 11:05

Ha ha Some definite bionic neck action there. gigs is not unique! However the face transplanting was a bit disturbing, hope it doesn't give gigs any silly ideas about a stage 3 Shock

Hope she has had a good night, it was a bit chilly on the balcony

Lovely weather here. Look out weeds! but first my least favourite job of clearing up several kilos of goondogs poo from under the girls 14 ft trampoline whilst he stands and laughs at me Sad

topsyturner · 20/04/2013 11:17

Excellent gift choice MrGigs

Cop when it's time to do the poo patrol for our 7 stone pig/dog , he is most definitely DHs responsibility !
We laugh at people who take their dogs for walks with tiny little poo bags .
Pig/dog requires a binliner and a shovel ...

sparklesunshine · 20/04/2013 11:18

Yay for being well enough to be out of the ICU gigs! Here's hoping it keeps going in the right direction, as quickly as possible.

MAS - thank goodness for good bloods. I hope you get some peace about it all soon.

Copt - I like your image of cancer as a gang of wandering idiots. I'd called mine Bob, partially after the twin peaks character, partially mini boob. Your version is much gentler, much easier to imagine chemo cops coming in to round up. Thank you.

Thanks for reassuring me about the counts. The lovely chemo nurse also said they could drop if you're fighting off an infection - they die when they eat germs - and my mom continues to have her terrible flu so that could have contributed. They've given me preemptive magic injection this round as well, so I'm hopeful I'll stay out of the hospital. (Goes off to wash hands. :) No reduction in dose so far, but I meet the Canadian oncologist on Tues and he may have an opinion.

We're doing proper outdoorsy things for our first Canadian weekend. There's a kids birthday party tomorrow and then a big event with all sorts of activities at the nature centre for earth day. Thing is that they kept the snow here, just so we could see it! It's melting a full month late and people are starting to get fed up. Luckily my girls think it's all very exciting.

We're 6 hours behind here so morning when you're afternoon etc.

smee · 20/04/2013 14:50

V.good pressie, Mr Gigs. Though I'd wager a bet that mini Gig will wrestle it from her mum before she's even home from hospital.

How are you, Gigs? Hope not too stiff and sore. Saw the balcony pics on fb. Sun must be cheering. Smile

Have fun with Bryan, Sometimes. Wink

Topsy, hope DD's okay now and you've had some sleep by now. eyuwk at Pig Dog's shovel..

Glad the girls think the snow's exciting, Sparkle. Does it feel good to be there?? I'd bet it does.

Cycled to take DH to his friend's house, so stopped on way back at ultra cool market full of trendies who made me feel old. Bought some sunflowers and a delish mini tray of strawberries for a friend's birthday. Then saw something I thought she'd like in the bookshop, so have decided to keep the sunflowers. Grin

KurriKurri · 20/04/2013 16:44

Afternoon all.

Love to you Gigs - hope you are feeling a little better today, - GA alone makes you feel pretty grotty for a good few days afterwards, let alone all that lego-ness, - but hopefully you'll feel a bit stronger each day. Good present MrG Grin love to all the Gigs family xx

MAS - glad that the bloods were good yesterday - that is very encouraging, when do you start taking your chemo tablets again (or have you already had them?) You must have all sorts of emotions going on, different feelings at different times, and yes I am sure everything to do with your brother has an enormous effect on how you feel. I definitely think the mindfulness will help you. Take care my lovely xx

Hope Dd is feeling a bit better topsy. Grin at poo patrol - I once looked after a big dog while owner was away (old lady dog is a very little dog) - I was astounded by the sheer quantity of debris it produced!

Sparkle - sounds as if yo have a fun weekend lined up - enjoy yourself Smile
Also Sometimes at the Roxy tribute concert - try not to have a hot flush Grin

Smee - you have made me want strawberries now!

waving to jane, copt, Ned and anyone I've missed,

DD is playing in a concert tonight (for her choir) and playing the organ in church tomorrow. I have just been pottering today - have got a horrible throat/chesty infection atm, which is making me bark like a dog and gobble strepsils. DH has been quite active - he has mowed the lawn and taken a load of stuff to the charity shop, and is now making a pizza ShockShock

topsyturner · 20/04/2013 18:47

Can I just say , dolcelatte blue cheese and balsamic vinegar salad , with roasted veg cous cous is the bees knees !!!

Gigs I hope your butler is serving food this good !

DD has had a miraculous recovery .
A friend called to take her out for the day this morning , and amazingly her tummy has not hurt once all day Grin

Gigondas · 20/04/2013 21:02

Tis a miracle topsy!

Here i am by power of drugs - am very sore , left arm weak but glad op done. Feeling bit Sad as cant do much for myself and feel bit of patient but just have to remember its early days.

Love you all and can't tell you how much it meant to hear your messages and help get me thru as felt pretty wobbly at times.

Right back to the voice - it's better on drugs Wink.

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/04/2013 21:42

lovely to have you back dear gig !
kk hope you feel less throaty v soon.
We had talipia (sp`/0 fillets and couscous for supper very yum. And jelly and ice cream for pudding. We had lunch out in the garden too and I've been wearing flipflops. Very excited as new stripy top and new Havaianas arrived in the post today.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 20/04/2013 21:45

Oh what colour stripes? I have some pink fluffy ugg flip flops for hospital.

The little gigs managed a picnic I. Garden today.

NedSchneebly · 20/04/2013 22:04

GIG!!! Mwah and big hugs to you, lovely. Great to hear you're doing ok. Just be good and gentle to yourself it is very early days so just go one step at a time, ok? Rest up in your new fluffy slippers and you'll be chasing round after the mini gigs before you know it Smile

amberlight · 20/04/2013 22:15

Oooo Gig!!! Yay!!! Take it easy. Think of people as your personal servants, there to do your bidding whilst you recline in splendour with your balcony and the excellent MrGig. Picniking youngsters sounds good to me.

'Evening everyone else. Leaving Wine out for all of you.

topsyturner · 20/04/2013 22:38

Gigs !!!

Fab to see you up and about my love
Now don't try and do too much at first
Take your drugs , rest , google Orange Men ... Grin

NedSchneebly · 21/04/2013 10:00

Grin at the bucket topsy

How you doing this morning gig? Thought of you when I woke up this morning and hoped you'd had a good night.

This morning I have signed up for the Race For Life - I shall be walking in a leisurely fashion running it for all of you x x x x

topsyturner · 21/04/2013 10:21

Good for you Ned
I would have to be driven around the race for life in a wheelbarrow

Morning All

Off to Granny's again soon .
Taking bets on what is for lunch today .
Was roast ham last week .

Copthallresident · 21/04/2013 10:36

Sings from balcony to whole of Maida Vale and also thinks of this www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNEUtN21cuU I actually saw this at the National Theatre Smile I thought phwoar he had a star future ahead of him, I should be a talent scout.....

I hope gigs had a good sleep. Great to hear from you in person! and agree with everyone else that however frustrating it is you should be patient as well as a patient. I'm really bad at that, hate having to ask people do things for me but rushing to do things in my experience means it takes even longer to recover

MAS I have that top, in fact two with those stripes and in reverse Grin Open my T shirt drawer and it is all stripeyness, and navyness, though I am also partial to a spot of dottyness Grin

I can hardly walk today as hit the garden big time yesterday in SHORTS and VEST TOP Shock it was ashocking sight as well Grin As I have to go to garden centre am more sedately dressed today! DH washed patio and then goondog decorated it with muddy pawprints , so he is now doing it again and making poor goondog stay in Grin KK glad to hear your DH doing real things as well.

topsyturner · 21/04/2013 12:15

Oh he's so darn pretty ...

topsyturner · 21/04/2013 12:16

Ps - smells like beef , not looked in oven yet though ...
