amberlight · 18/04/2013 17:20

Just popped in before I head out to the community centre theatre.

Hello MrGigs, thanks for updating us, - hopefully she will soon be, or is already back from op., and will soon be munching a bit of hospital toast Smile - have been thinking of her all day - and send all my love. And a hug for you too and the little Giglettes. xx

Thanks for bums on the paranoia box, and calming words - had to practically wrestle the receptionist to the floor to get her to give me my blood form, and will pop into the hospital to get it done tomorrow. No point panicking atm, so will shove it out of my mind lies unconvincingly.

Back later after the play, to check for Gigs updates.

poppysdog · 18/04/2013 18:11

Had a text from surgeon. All went well - did bionifications parts one and two so no need for stage two next week, I'll be allowed back in in an hour or so and will update if necessary. Will hide drugs in pants and smuggle them out...Blush

MaryAnnSingleton · 18/04/2013 18:22

hooray - excellent news - give gig our love when she wakes up x

AshokanFarewell · 18/04/2013 18:26

MrGigs thank you for the update, very kind of you to pop on and let us know. I have been thinking of gigs all afternoon and sending lots of positive thoughts her way. I hope she is now out and fully drugged up! :) best wishes to you, big gigs and mini gigs too

KK I expect they're just being extra careful to tick all the boxes as you've had a serious illness and treatment before. Some doctors have a way of being completely blunt and making people worry when in fact it's just routine. But I'll hop on the paranoia box as well! I am incredibly hefty so should weigh it down nicely Grin do you know when you'll get the results? Enjoy Calendar Girls! :) I loved the film so I'm sure the show will be fab - will there be nudity?! Shock Grin

MAS I'm very jealous. I've always wanted to go to one of those parties. My mum used to go to Tupperware parties when I was little. I expect they're not quite as cool as I thought they were Wink but have had a quick snoop on the website and the stuff looks good, although pricey

Waves to everyone and hope everyone is having a lovely day :)

KurriKurri · 18/04/2013 18:27

Hooray for no second op. - she will be chuffed when she wakes up to that news Smile Thanks for update MrG.

AshokanFarewell · 18/04/2013 18:28

Oops cross-posted with MrGigs - fabulous news! :) will continue good wishes for a speedy recovery

Copthallresident · 18/04/2013 18:42

Glad to know it has gone so well for gigs, great news!

poppysdog · 18/04/2013 18:52

Well it seems that Gigs guzzled your drugs before I got there - she's napping til tomorrow.

graciesmall09 · 18/04/2013 19:04

Glad the op went well for gigs. Give her gentle hugs from us.

smee · 18/04/2013 19:13

Wow, that's fab second op done too. Fully bionic Gigs already. Huge hoorays..! Thanks MrG for letting us know. I don't mind where they've been. Grin

In a rush now. My brother's coming tonight and the house is a mess so have to shift piles of things before I can unfold the futon for him. Hope everyone's well x Smile

jchocchip · 18/04/2013 19:21

That's brilliant news mrgigs Thanks for letting us know.

Not sure I should be hitting the Wine before off for a run/swim but I couldn't refuse, could I? That would have been rude Grin

topsyturner · 18/04/2013 19:24

Excellent news MrG
very pissed off at not getting any pants drugs
Tell her we are all waiting on her balcony when she wakes up .
If she hears an almighty crash , we've broken it ...

I'm drinking wine to celebrate Gigs successful bionification , anyone care to join me ???

MrGigs · 18/04/2013 19:39

MrGigs may have a glass or two of that Waitrose Cotes du Rhone that'll be twitching towards me along the worktop when I get home. Note the name change - might as well admit my subordinate role....

Sometimesiwonder · 18/04/2013 19:51

Hi all! Just wanted to drop by and add my good wishes for gigs and pinch drugs but too late I see and take my turn on the paranoia box for you all.

Hope you're all doing Ok. Not much to report here - loads of work to do, but - hooray - this weekend I'm going to stop for a bit and go see a Roxy Music tribute band (am quite old) I can feel a scream coming on already!

Sometimesiwonder · 18/04/2013 19:58

Oh, and yes I plan to join topsy and Mr G in a Wine or even 2

NedSchneebly · 18/04/2013 20:02

Good work mrgigs an thanks so much for the update - tried to get on MN at work today but the scumbags in IT filtered it so I couldn't access to send good wishes. Give big love to her and lots to you too, and the girls x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x waitrose cote du rhone is very classy - and we are all similarly classy so you will fit right in on this thread Grin

amberlight · 18/04/2013 20:07

Wine all round for Gigs and everyone else, for sure!

sparklesunshine · 18/04/2013 20:15

Hello! Sorry I dropped off the face of the earth for a while. I did get an infection followed by 3 nights in Kings until my neutrophil count went back up. Then, more money court (all done now I'm pretty sure) and packing up my whole house! Ga!

Just wanted to mark my place and say hello. We've arrived, I'm part unpacked, the kids are a bit nuts with jet lag, and I've got appointments out the wazoo to register in the Canada system, but it feels oh so good to be home and deadline free for a while.

Good thoughts to all of you.

Copthallresident · 18/04/2013 20:36

Thanks for the updates Mr gigs, that wine will be much needed I'm sure.

This balcony is a bit crowded.........

Sparkle Sorry to hear about your infection, if you have suffered neutropenia they will almost certainly reduce your dose. I too had a few scary days in hospital after first treatment but they kept reducing the dose for just about every following treatment, and I also had to give myself some white blood cell boosting injections on the dangerous days. The way they calculate the dose is a quite primitive, height times weight calculation, which doesn't take account of different body types etc. so it is quite normal to then calibrate it according to how your body copes. Glad you feel more settled back home.

Sometimesiwonder · 18/04/2013 20:40

Oh I'd forgotten those injections, Copthall. But now you've reminded me I can recall an unsavoury incident when I had to inject myself in the bogs at Euston station.....

topsyturner · 18/04/2013 20:56

Excellent MrGigs , on both the name change and the wine front .
Gentle hint though , try not to mention Waitrose , AS WE DON'T HAVE ANY IN NORTHERN IRELAND ShockShockShock

Sparkle glad to hear you are home (in Canada) and settled .
Here's hoping everything takes an upward turn from here on for you !

Right , finished the pink wine (HND helped) . Moved onto the Pinot Grigio . Think I may need snacks now too .
If I don't have snacks , it may lead to major illness in the AM .

Who is on snack trolley duty ?
Amber stop dancing on tables and get back to restocking the trolley !
