KurriKurri · 17/04/2013 19:54

Nice dinner and posh chokey is good Gig, - glad the parcel arrived in time Smile xx

smee · 17/04/2013 19:59

How posh, Gigs? Have you your own room? Is DH with you, or is he back home with the little Gigs?

Copt, that's awful about airport security. Shock

I had cutlery and ventouse too, MAS. Horrid..

Gigondas · 17/04/2013 20:05

Very posh- by lords cricket ground and have own room with balcony .

Another one who had ventouse and stitches with big gig .

Am sure will get fed up - already had nurse in about 207 times with questions. Also suspect as 3rd on tomorrow that will be some thumb twiddling .

smee · 17/04/2013 20:20

Ooh, budge up am on the way over. Grin

Hope you don't have to wait in the morning. Do they have those plastic pants in posh hospitals. Always hate sitting waiting in those.. Hmm

Copthallresident · 17/04/2013 20:21

gigs Did you drive in on the A316? Just took big Copt back to her flat Sad and wondered why Mortlake cemetery was crawling with police www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/margaret-thatcher/10001804/Margaret-Thatcher-Tearful-Sir-Mark-and-Carol-Thatcher-say-final-farewell-to-their-mother-at-cremation.html We didn't think it could be Maggie as she had no local connections. Wish I' d held my breath as I went by! However a whiff of iron lady might have been good for your bionicification Grin

Is posh hospital very posh. Friend had surgery at Portland and it was all a bit 80s, it was quite amusing thinking of posh and celeb friends having to endure all that unfashionable peach and grey ragrolled paint and floral borders!! Also only had six channels on TV and one of those was Middle Eastern soap operas!! The Priory is even worse (bipolar friend there), more Travelodge than posh, very nasty plastic shower cubicle and threadbare towels.

Re frisking I think I will write letter to BAA to ask about process for handling that sort of situation, and whether they address it in training their staff, just because they should.

Copthallresident · 17/04/2013 20:21

X posted re poshness Grin

topsyturner · 17/04/2013 20:32

The one time I've flown since surgery I actually pulled the Lady Frisker aside and told her I have a breast prosthesis due to cancer surgery , and she was very understanding .
But I think it's the luck of the draw as to who you get !

How posh is posh Gigs ?
Do you have a butler ?
How many choices of tea are you offered ?
Do they have hot and cold running Orange Men in all the rooms ???

jchocchip · 17/04/2013 20:39

Hot and cold running orange men should be therapeutic :)

Gigondas · 17/04/2013 20:50

No orange men. No butler but can order up food/drinks when like and k
It is a bit 80s. And yes there are a lot of Arabic channels.

Missed the a316 debacle but saw she was cremated there - suppose it is as good as anywhere .

Will order something for smee.

graciesmall09 · 17/04/2013 21:34

Lots of good luck vibes winging their way over the Irish Sea to gigs in mega posh hospital. Orange men do not aid recovery in fact would probably cause a relapse.

Hopefully will catch up at the weekend.

smee · 17/04/2013 21:44

but what, no orange men?! Shock

thenightisyoung · 17/04/2013 21:45

Enjoy all the poshness and good luck for tomorrow gigs, I will be thinking of you

topsyturner · 17/04/2013 22:10

Do you get good drugs in a posh hospital then Gigs ?

KurriKurri · 17/04/2013 22:22

Ooh I can just feel the poshness vibes coming off this thread Grin

Loads of love and luck for tomorrow Gigs sweetheart, - I may not be around to post as am out quite a bit tomorrow, - but you'll be in my thoughts big time xx

smee · 17/04/2013 22:41

I've crept in disguised as a cocktail waitress, Kurri. Topsy, we could have a party on Gig's balcony. I have a bag of waitrose crisps somewhere. They're posh..Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/04/2013 23:06

Think I might join you in posh chokey - do they put fancy toiletries in the bathroom ?
Have been to Mortlake crem. Many times I'm afraid Hmm and used to walk our dogs from Kew along the tow path to the steps beside it.

OP posts:
smee · 17/04/2013 23:33

Thinking of you Gig. Off to bed now. xx

Night all. Smile

Copthallresident · 18/04/2013 00:00

As you know I am dead posh, me. So do I get some Waitrose crisps? Actually on way back from dropping off big Copt I stopped in at the M&S food in Westfields, the poshest of posh M&S's , this is not just any posh food, it is M&S posh food, even the blueberry jam is "myrtille sauvage" so can bring some rose Turkish Delight for the balcony and also des hommes orange sauvage for Topsy Grin

MAS That tow path and steps have many happy memories, champagne at dawn on my birthday with friends pre babies, and then I walked up and down it for hours when in labour with big Copt.......... Now sadly have had too may pit-bull incidents for it to be a nostalgic dog walk Sad Also they built on the sewage works so it is all a bit Milton Keynes IYSWIM, but at least not as smelly Grin.

gigs Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Copthallresident · 18/04/2013 00:15

It doesn't get posher than this cake for the balcony Smile www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/shortcuts/2013/apr/17/cake-looks-like-a-mondrian-painting

Gigondas · 18/04/2013 02:16

Wow at that cake! (Pre op /hospital insomnia - was asleep fine til an hour ago).

Yes posh toiletries here and it's defo a waitrose crisp kind of place but plenty of room on balcony Wink. Also posh m and s welcome ( what is Westfield like copthall as I have avoided so far as dh is still shuddering from a visit to the one in Stratford . His idea of shopping mall is pacific place).

Mini gig was very funny on the video phone tonight. I took a couple of soft toys with me cos I am sentimental and it reminds me of kids and was showing them on the phone. Big gig thought it was funny, but mini was outraged that I had taken a badger (she has 2 more so I am not that mean) and was howling angrily at me and the rogue badger til I hid it.

May well be back later if have wait - I will update when can but maybe tomorrow as will be on watch and drugged up til tomorrow. And yes topsy there is plenty of posh drugs here.

topsyturner · 18/04/2013 05:49

Morning All

Just popping on to wish Gigs the smoothest of bionifications today .
Take all the drugs they offer , and be a good patient !

How long after the op till they reckon you'll be able to post on the Internet ?

Gigondas · 18/04/2013 06:10

Probs tomorrow am as will not get back to room til then as will be on watch over night.

You lot are going to taunt me while I am nil by mouth aren't you,

jchocchip · 18/04/2013 06:16

Naughty badger! Grin. I hope he goes home with a bandage and a good cover story.
There is a Westfield in Bradford, well actually a Wastefield. They did the compulsory purchase and knocked the 1960's shops down. Then omitted to start building so it is a hole... and no shops.
Echo what topsy said. Wishing you the smoothest bionifications today gig

coorong · 18/04/2013 07:23

gigs good luck for the transformation -

Which reminds me, ended up with a section for my two (failed to progress ....) BUT I was in hospital when Australia lost its first test in England in 17 years and I spent 6 days SUFFERING - every doctor, nurse, assistant, orderly ...... Gave me a hard time - worse was my husband who only visited me to watch the test on the hospital telly (we didn't have one at home at the time) .....

On the trolley this morning - specially for you - left over Maison Blanc chocolate cake (but I can pop down to Iceland if you want to challenge the posh paradigm ..... Never been, but I know where it is.....)
