Is this a UTI and if so would I be a wimp to take the day off tomorrow if it doesn't stop.

Lots of pressure on my vagina, feels like I need to do a huge wee but either a tiny trickle or nothing comes out.

Is also triggering my IBS and have spent the past hour on the loo .

I can barely walk because it feels like I am full of wee.

Am also feeling hot and. and nauseous .

DH wants to go to A and E which I think is an over reaction and I can't face driving anywhere as I keep running to the loo.

Will feel like a fraudulent fool for phoning in with a UTI.

Ooh? Utis can get may if untreated.

ilovepicnmix · 24/03/2013 19:14

I'd go to the gp first thing tomorrow. I've had some horrible ones accompanied with fevers and have had time off work.

Arisbottle · 24/03/2013 19:16

Thanks . Am currently sat on the loo watching coronation street on the Ipad Smile

Ive been suffering from it all week and now getting feverish . Im going to doctors tomorrow with a urine sample .

LaCucina · 24/03/2013 19:23

I'd take a sample to ooh or a&e. It's the eork of seconds for them to dip it. Tge sooner you start antibiotics the better.

Fwiw, I thought I had a uti and it turned out to be an ectopic pg, so please don't suffer on, seek help.

Arisbottle · 24/03/2013 19:31

Ooh closes at 8pm and is more than half an hour away.

Doctor is also 30-40 minutes away.

Def go to gp in the morning uti's can spread to kidneys quite easily, take paracetamol, drink just water, if you can't pee at all you could be in urinary retention and tbh I wouldn't leave it until the morning in that case, but if you can still pee all be it painfully then I would go first thing in the morning.

Arisbottle · 24/03/2013 19:43

Am managing little trickles of wee. Worryingly the last wee was pink . Definitely not about to start period.

A&E would not be appropriate as it is not an accident or an emergency.

You would also have to sit around for hours and house which I'm sure you could do without!

Arisbottle · 24/03/2013 19:46

That is what I said timid. I think DH can just see me in pain and he wants to help now.

Phone the new 111 number. You can sometimes get out of hours appointments at the local hospital with a GP. ( well you can in Hampshire anyway! I did it two weeks ago with dd).

CajaDeLaMemoria · 24/03/2013 19:49

From what you've said, this might have already spread to your kidneys.

I'd get help now. I waited til the morning rather than go to A&E at 2am and was hospitalized for a fortnight with the most horrendous kidney infection. My kidneys are now badly damaged, and I'm having surgery on them next week.

Get a urine sample to someone, and get antibiotics. It's really important.

Hawkmoth · 24/03/2013 19:52

111 might not be working. Do you have an urgent care centre?

Tubegirl · 24/03/2013 19:55

Or minor injuries unit if you have no success with 111.

Arisbottle · 24/03/2013 19:59

No 111 here, think I might move . This is a crap place to be ill. Grin

In my area we have an out of hours gp surgery which you can phone and go to they give you a time and you turn up, it's for when a&e isn't appropriate and your local gp is shut, do you have anything similar?

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 24/03/2013 20:13

Our ooh is open from 6pm-8am and all weekend. We just ring and then they either come out if already local or we go to the hospital 20 mins away. I'd get it checked ASAP.

Arisbottle · 24/03/2013 20:49

Going to out of hours now with a pot of wee!

OP posts:
susiedaisy · 24/03/2013 21:37

Hope you're ok!

Hawkmoth · 24/03/2013 21:39

Hopefully just a dip and script! Btw, re work, I've just had two weeks off with an asymptomatic uti, but I am pregnant so nobody's allowed to call me a wimp!

susiedaisy · 25/03/2013 09:27

How did you get on op?

Arisbottle · 25/03/2013 16:21

They have kept me in, on a drip as it has spread to my kidneys. Just as well I went in when I did.

I am hoping they will let me home tomorrow.

OP posts:
MrsHoarder · 25/03/2013 16:28

Glad you're recovering and got some attention.

Hope you're home soon.

susiedaisy · 25/03/2013 17:13

Ah you did the right thing then last night, hope you feel better soon Thanks
