My mum has a tumour on her liver :(
Dr wanted her to have a PET scan as he suspected cancer. However the results have not shown the tumour as a 'hot spot' which is good but now he wants her to have a biopsy as opposed to surgery to establish once & for all if it is cancerous.
Apparently a biopsy runs a small risk of spreading cells if they are in fact cancerous but the Dr said this was his advised course of action.
Has anyone got any experience or knowledge of this?
Thank you.
