Hi,
I would really like some advice please my husband had an urgent referal for a hearnia opperation 19 months ago and has still not ben opperated on.
Background - he has dilated cardio-myopathy and type 2 diabetes. As such to go under a general he was told he would need this one particular surgon and his partnering anistatist (sp) and also an icu bed for afterwards. He was toldto go in to have his opp last Monday and 07:30am to be told at 15:00 the wrong anistatist (sp) was there and to go back the next day. So Tuesday he went in atr 10am as asked to sit in a waiting room until 16:00 to be told they do not have a bed for him go home come back tom. Wednesday 8am back in was given a bed and correct staff but no ICU bed. the surgon said he wasnt prepared to send him away again until his opp was done, Friday night at 9pm they sent him home saying its not going to be done any time soon. The surgon has signed him off work as the hearnia is now very large, painful and will not go back in.
What can we do other than complaining to pals to get him opperated on?

Thanks for reading this and I'm sorry about the spelling.

Start with PALS and if they can't get you a result, go straight to the Chief Executive. If anyone suggests this might be a bit over the top, ask if they would prefer you to go to the local paper.

Good luck!

Hi RockinD,
Thanks for replying I am currently writing a letter to PALS, I hadn't thought about the Chief Executive though. I just wanted to see if their is anything else I could or should be doing.
Thanks again.
