is spotting after sex always a bad thing

me and my dh are ttc #4 and after we have sex i have bright red spotting, i have no infections and i'm so scared

I had this once, and it was a cervical erosion, which I ended up getting cauterised. So not bad news always, but you do need to get checked out

I have this but only pinky blood when I wipe afterwards. I recently went to see the gynae as I convinced myself I had ovarian/cervical cancer and she diagnosed an ectropian as well.

She said there was no need for treatment unless it caused any undue probs but was happy to cauterise it. I've left alone until it becomes an issue.

Try not to worry, just go and get it checked

Same as above. But DO get it checked out. Smear tests save lives - are you up to date? (Sorry, not trying to sound like a bossy old bat.)

I used to get this when I was on the injection.

Definitely not always a bad sign - I too have had this for years and have been checked out by a gynae who couldn't find out why.. wasn't until a few clever MNers pointed out that cervical polyps can bleed after sex that i had my answer, had them removed but they came back, so i just ignore them now.
