<sheepish Claxon> large spot in my fanjo - OUCH. Any experience?

Hi
I have a large spot on the inside of my vulva. Looks like it has pus under the surface, is hard and hurts when I touch it (or wipe after going to the loo).
I've had one before (same place I think) but it didn't really hurt and went away by itself. This one is SORE.

I wondered if it could be a sebaceous cyst but what I read said they are painless.

Any suggestions (and NO, I can't squeeze it) as to how to get rid of it?

Does this sound like it?
Betcha it is.

I hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news, but its possibly herpes - there's 2 types & the type that gives cold sires on the mouth can also be passed to someone on the "fanjo" - this happened to a good friend of mine & she described it as feeling like paper cuts, sometimes flare ups were more painful tan others - it was diagnosed as herpes by her GP after the took a swab

Hope it's not, but good luck

StickEmWithThePointyEnd · 07/03/2013 22:25

Does it feel like a sharp bruise pain, rather than a paper cut type pain?

If so then a hot flannel on it and a bit of squeezing and you could have the experience of bursting possibly one of the best spots you will ever have.

And the relief you will have afterwards!

SmashingGherkins · 07/03/2013 22:42

I'm 99.9% sure it's not herpes unless you can catch it other than from a partner.

The pain is like a pressing on a large sore spot! The spot is sealed over if you know what I mean rather than being an open cut.

I've googled bartholins cyst images and am now traumatised and more convinced it is a nasty spot, those things were HUAAAggggee. Also I am a bit old (ahem) for that.

Sit in a nice hot bath with salt and tea tree oil in it - that should soften the skin and let it burst. I often get these, and confess to poking with a sterilised needle when I can clearly see pus

GlaikitFizzog · 08/03/2013 09:37

I second hot flange or a bath and let nature take its course. If you can stand it sterilise a pin and nick the skin. The relief will be immense!

GlaikitFizzog · 08/03/2013 09:38

Flannel flannel, not flange! Jeezo! Need more Brew this morning!

PMSL at hot flange Grin

I've had several of these - one big enough that I went to A&E and got antibiotics. They are sore, but are simply the best spot squeeze ever - and the relief is instant!

ThePathanKhansAmnesiac · 08/03/2013 20:16

Hot flange Grin perfect!
Poor OP, has it burst yet?

timidviper · 08/03/2013 20:16

I have had a spot there and it was very sore. If it is like mine, it will eventually pop, discharge and just be gone.

JaquelineHyde · 08/03/2013 20:20

Woohoo!

Hot as you can stand bath to draw it out, then get comfortable and have a little squeeze.

Be warned the last one I had of these would not pop at all for me and I was quite forceful, Then I asked DH to have a look and check what it looked like and he just knocked it with his hand, no pressure at all, and it exploded all over the place. It literally hit my foot (I was lying on the bed), all down my leg, up DH's arm. It was great Grin Grin

I'm a little jealous of you, I suppose photos and videos are out of the question?! Grin
