Endometrial biopsy results - how long did you wait?

Can anyone tell me how long before they got their results from their endometrial biopsy?

Had mine done a week ago and they said they would be posted out to me, but I forgot to ask how long they would take and am hopeless at waiting!

They come back a lot faster than the smear test results. Should definitely have them within 2 weeks.

Depending on the reason an endometrial biopsy is done it will be anywhere between 1-4 weeks inchding the time for the clinician to review the results, do a letter and it be posted out. If you've got a contact number, give the clinic admin or secretary a ring and they should be able to give you a better idea.

Zavi - the NHS CSP standard is to receive your smear results by day 14 after you had it taken.

Thanks Bela. I had it done privately because of abnormal bleeding before a mirena fitting. I only have a number for the ward in case of any complications (completely clueless when I phoned) and for appts. Sure hope its closer to the week rather than 4 weeks. It's only been 8 days so far and I'm already stalking the postman!

Not much experience of private but I would expect something within 2 weeks for a private procedure. Have you got a contact number from booking the appointment, might be worth using that to check when your results should come through.

Ah I saw this yesterday and thought I would see what the responses were (as I was also waiting for my results). However I got mine today in the post - so it took almost 3 weeks. It was normal. My guess is like many tests, if you don't hear super quick, there is probably nothing to report. Hope you get your results soon.
