Hi to you all, I am a lurker who reads threads but very rarely post. However I am really worried about my daughter and wondered if anyone could help. She had been suffering from a cold, chesty cough etc and got worse throughout the night I took her to a&e in the morning and they advised a chest infection with an ear infection as well, whilst we were there the consultant noticed a lump in her groin which has been there for ages and started asking me questions, does she bruise easily etc and then advised me to contact the doctors. I have been and they have advised me to go the hospital and now I'm really worried. The lump is probaly an enlarged gland and has been there for at least a couple of months, its hard and rubbery and doesn't seem to bother her. She hasn't been particulary ill, just the usual which responds to nurofen, no weight loss etc, I don't think its a hernia because its not soft. No easy bruising. The only thing I would say is that she wants me to pick her up all the time. Anybody ever had this?

hi marlady welcome to MN. My ds has had enlarged nodes in his neck from time to time, and we've had them checked out. I think they can be fairly common. I wouldn't worry too much, but I'm glad they are checking it out, to be on the safe side. Hope it all turns out OK. Smile

Sorry, no advice on the health front. Not something I had to deal with in my kids.

One little suggestion though if you are now de-lurking Smile

You may want to reconsider your posting name as there is a long-term poster called Marslady (and varients of) that you might find yourself getting confused with.

Hope your dd is well soon.

Hmmm, I did hear of an adult with this, she had an infection and it culminated in a lump in her groin. I'll see if I can locate her for you.
