does anyone know how fast calpol works? does it take 1/2 hr 3/4 or 5mins?
my dd had a molar break through the other night she cried on and off for about 40 mins and i then gave in and went to her and gave her some calpol, she went to sleep straight with in 5 mins? now she was awake 50mins by this stage so she was tired.
maybe it depeds on the pain level?

IME, it starts to work quite fast (within minutes). So if she was tired anyway and the pain started to subside it is likely that she'd drop off again quickly. My ds usually does if he needs painkiller during the night.

It's probably similar to the speed with which paracetamol takes effect in adults (although possibly a bit quicker as tablets take a while to break up).

HTH.
