so I'm worried that when the tube goes down my throat I'll have what is now common for me i.e. feels as though throat goes into spasm and I choke .

With food so far I've been able to wait and it either eventually seems to go down ( having been stuck ) or if I'm lucky I regurgitate ( sorry for TMI ) .

I spoke briefly to unit today ( appt is next Wednesday ) to explain this and I was so happy to hear them say that I could have sedation that I rather ignored what proceeded that remark .
Which was " if we can't do it without ..then we'll .. "

Surely I misheard ? Will I have to have a terrible experience before they'll consider sedation ?
How do they decide on which procedure to go for ?

TBH I'm past being scared of procedure ,really glad to get an appointment so quickly ( mustn't let fact that I've got appointment so quickly - 8 days after visiting GP spook me )and looking forward to diagnosis and sorting out .

I've been told that I just have to say that I want it when I arrive (I'm booked in next Tuesday), but when they rang to confirm the appointment I did just say could they make a note that I definitely wanted it. I don't think they did though!
I have a feeling we're not the only people to be nervous about this.
My question is do I have to wear a gown and will I any part of me be exposed-do I need to wear nice underwear?
