DS1 just kicked (sigh- ds1 has AS and does this a lot) DS2, this time in the head and the whole area beneath his eye is swollen and sticks out about 1.5 cm. What to do?

Does he have any other symptons? Is he sick? Crying? Need any stitches?

If your worried take him - it'll put your mind at rest.

take him, just to be sure.

You could phone NHS Direct and get a referral to your Out of Hours GP service, worth a phone call before braving A&E!

red37 · 01/05/2006 20:14

Or give the NHS direct a ring

I once got hit on the thumb with a cricket ball and my thumb did that so it is a common reaction but given small child, and eye area, I would go to A&E.

Have you got a small pack of frozen peas to hold on it while you wait?

Peachyclair · 01/05/2006 20:15

crying for a bit- TBH he's used to it Sad

no signs of concussion as yet

must admit, I'm tempted to get DH to take him so it goes on Sam's record; we're struggling to get anyone to listen to us about him.

i would take mine if its that swollen

hasbean · 01/05/2006 20:16

Don't bother with NHS direct they will keep you hanging around for ages then tell you to take him to A + E. Cut out the middle man and go there anyway just to be on the safe side

Peachyclair · 01/05/2006 20:17

Dh is on way home from work, if it hasn;'t gone down by then he's off to A&E. Poor lad Sad

Have you put a cold compress on it?

Peachyclair · 01/05/2006 20:23

yes, frozen beans
