Nausea, chest pain, constipation, abdominal pain - all post flu/pneumonia

I know I should go to the GP but haven't got time as so many other demands at the moment. So I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms post-flu and pneumonia?

History if that 4 weeks ago I caught a basic nasty chesty cough virus from DS1 and was caring for him for one week off school whilst also working f/t from home. Then I literally collapsed one morning, vomiting for 3.5 hrs nonstop, delirious and my own illness became something much worse than one of those viruses you just 'push through' and carry on and ignore.

I was diagnosed with full blown influenza and also pneumonia and took antiobiotics for one week. Taking ages to feel properly better and still feel very under par though had to get back to normal more or less, about 4 or 5 days after my collapse (single mum, f/t business to run, no help).

Well, it's over 3 weeks on since my collapse and I'm feeling nauseous all the time, although making myself eat, to keep uo strength. Still hurts to breathe in and out but assume pneumonia has gone as I was only given a week's worth of antibiotics.

Had constipation (and some 'bleeding' from there too!) for about one to 2 weeks now and abdominal pain and 'wind'.

It's the constant nausea that's particularly unusual for me and that wasn't there, initially, after the first few days from my collapse.

As often happens, in times of adversity, a whole series of other problems are also currently going on and so I know I'm stressed but I don't think I'm the sort of person who manifests stress physically and I'm also quite good at handling a lot of challenges.

So I guess I'm hoping that the nausea might simply be stress related and due to increased stomach acid because of stress. But might it be something more and also might it be completely unrelated to the flu and pneumonia?

Any ideas please?

It sounds like you have been very unwell, so I would not expect you to be fully well at only 4 weeks. Its my understanding that antibiotics only assist the body in getting on top of bacterial infections faster- your body might well be still busy fighting off viral infection and repairing the damage caused. Actually nausia (and chest pain) were some of my symptons after a severe dose of pneumonia but I blamed the medications (different from yours) for the nausia, and sore membranes for the chest pain. So I think you should check with your GP especially about the continuing chest pain. Your antibiotics may have upset your digestive system and killed off those good gut bacteria, so perhaps taking a good probiotic would help. Best to check with your GP.
Hope you feel better soon.
