Any ideas?
My 2 big toes/toenails are sore and a green/black colour, nice!
Dr took a clipping, came back completely clear, was most surprised and have to say dissapointed as now confused.
Where should I be looking now? Rest of toenails are fine.
Dr said nothing she could do as results clear, they look gross and as said before painful.

Are your shoes rubbing or pressing at all? You could maybe see a Chiropodist as they specialise in feet.

Do you run? Or wear shoes that could be too small. I've bruised toe nails when running long distance in trainers that were a bit tight.

The black is dried blood the green is old dried pus.
Sounds like an old resolved bacterial infection. It should grow out in the next 6 months. See a podiatrist if you're concerned.

Sorry, realised you said they are sore. Take yourself to a Podiatrist, they can resolve it completely for you.

will see one, thanks.
No running for me! Will source a dood foot person first thing in the morning, thanks again.

you may find one of those small antibacterial hand wash sprays, quite cheap, helps.

You say not fungal, but most are microbial - onychomycosis. Causes vary, but a common cause is poor circulation, which gets worse with age. If this is what it is (and a podiatrist should know) it will take months and months to be rid of it. I've been treating mine since last May, and it is going, but I'm only half - two thirds there. I think the nail has to grow out.
