Help - nosebleeds in 3 year old

Does anyone have a little one prone to nosebleeds and can offer some advice? My 3 year old dd seems to have spates where she has 3-4 than nothing for a few weeks. They seem to occur mostly at night and were initially quite frightening for her. Does anyone know why this can occur - dd is otherwise fighting fit and healthy?

My dd1 has night time nose bleeds too (she's fine otherwise) she seems quite flippant about them!! My Dh said he got them when he was younger and I remember my sister did too... maybe its a family thing??

Our DD gets them occasionally (at night) - I remember doing an archive search on here and it seems its quite common. Don't remember any advice given though-sorry.

It may be that she needs the little flap of skin inside her nostril cauterised - your GP can advise. It doesn't take long but would usually be done at A & E or ENT outpatients. Our eldest had this done on both nostrils (a few weeks apart) when he was about 4 or 6 and has had no problems since. Prior to same he would frequently have 'gushers'.

Or, it may be that the heating has been working too much on those nights and the air is too dry. Leave a window slightly open if it happens again. I grew up in a desertic area and I can say that the cotton in the nose is an iconic piece of my childhood.
