I want a boob job! And going smaller NOT bigger!

Has anyone on here had one?

I'm 22, but they're drifting around the 32F mark. They've caused me much strife, backache, and well strife for 10 years. Dh has for the most part agreed, but it would be a lot easier if I could get it done on the nhs. Are they big enough?

Also, do I want them done on the nhs? someone I vaguely know had them done and was pleased, but I remember seeing a cosmetic surgery program on tv ages ago, and one person had it done privately, the other on nhs and you could see the difference.

I don't think there's a definite size that you need to be to get op on NHS. I think if they are causing further damage ie neck or back pain, you could be elegible. Hopefully someone who knows more will be along soon. I'll keep watching this thread. I'm 34F and only 5ft. I'm not bothered just now, but don;t want to be one of these old women with a huge uplifed shelf in front!

This is my issue, they seem huge on my rather small 5ft 2 frame. I've decided to try and do something sooner rather than later, although not right now lol as I'm coming up 6 months pg and I also want to see if bf-ing takes this time!

I'm about the same sort of size as you (5'2" and 32F) and have always held off, because I thought that I wouldn't be able to breastfeed if I had the operation. I may have got completely the wrong end of the stick on this one though.

And things may settle down at the other end a bit better - both of my similar sized friends have ended up a size or two smaller after pregnancy and breastfeeding.. I'm three months pregnant, though so you'll find out before me!

They stayed the same after ds (obviously are bigger now I'm pg) but I only bf'ed for 6 weeks before he gave up... if it doesn't work out for new LO I'm sorely tempted just to go ahead with it...

uplifted, not uplifed. My DH's gran was here tonight with her matronly bosom, and it really brought home to me that I should get a reduction before I need to buy the expensive flesh-coloured scaffolding she wears.

Yes, I'm the same. Will get them done when I have finished having babies. Partly the bf thing, partly both my pregnancies I have gone up 2 cup sizes without going down (well I didn't with ds, yet to have this baby, but am not optimistic). They are beyond ridiculous now, and do interfere with my life. Good luck with what you decide. I do think there is a certain time you have to wait after you finish bfing though? Not sure...

lunavix, i had an NHS breast reduction around 10 years ago. I'm just over 5' and mine were 32F at the time. I told the consultant of my shoulder and backache - he gave me a quick examination and then agreed to do the op. will just add here that the shoulder & backache weren't really the issue - i simply hated my boobs; i was only in my early twenties and my nipples touched my waistband.
Afterwards i was around a 32C which then went quickly to a 32D. I felt transformed and it makes me smile even now when i think how fantastic it made me feel. It was one of the best things i've ever done with my life.
They're much bigger now though after putting on weight but the shape is still great & i'm trying to diet.

Hi Luinavix had mine done on the NHS a year ago and they are truely fab! The only criteria they have is that you are have a healthy BMI. My scars are almost invisible and the discomfort was quite minimal after the op. People always comment on how fab my boobs are now (nipples point in the right direction) although they are still a bit on the big side which I put down to putting on a bit of weight after the op. lunavix, my friend had her reduction on 1st Dec and she had a tiny frame with 32ff think she is 5ft 2, its the best thing she said she has ever done, her doctor referred her and 6m later she had it done, she is nearly 21, she took 4weeks off her work and her recovery had no hitches. Don't know which area you are in but my friend had it done at the Golden Jubilee, Glasgow under NHS

Hi lunavix I am in this situation too hun, currently i am 30 with 42G mamas.

I have seen the GP and plastic surgeons about this too, I had to get to 12 stone then have my GP reffer me back over as then I was "safe" for the anaesthetic.

must add too that my neck,shoulders and back are sore carrying these lumps of lard around too, agree on the BMI issue thats why I had to get to 12 stone. Can't wait to have them smaller although hubby says he will take compasionate leave when I get them done

Oh I so can't wait for mine to be reduced now, I was at the dosc about 2 weeks ago when I was 12 stone 1 and he said I was being reffered YEEE HAAAAA

Must remember to go in and chase them up now, only thing was I gained 4lb since must kick myself up the ass and get back into the swing of weight loss

I had one a month ago. What a relief! We don't live in the UK so no NHS but our french health insurance picked it up, by some miracle. I was "only" a 38D but had suffered for years with neck & back pain. then 2 pgs, each with a weight gain of about 20 kg, breastfeeding, losing the weight once just to put it back on again with pg#2... well, you get the idea. my boobs were so heavy & sagging. I hated them & wouldn't let even dh touch them. The surgeon took off an amazing 1.8 kg & I'm now a pert 36B. Happy t-shirt wearer!

Yeah, the BMI issue. I had 7 kg to lose first but managed that with a v.low carb/low fat diet. Now have to keep it off.

I went from 36FF to 36C (now 38C as bigger all over). I went privately and it was the best £5000 I ever spent. I have great ttis, just the right size, dh loves them, I can wear what I want, buy nice underwear, do exercise etc. It's just fab. I wish I could reduce my tummy as effectively!

So jealous C or B cup would be perfect....

I want mine done once babies over and done with. Is there a limit to how many cup sizes you can go down? I am currently a HH or J cup and would *love to be able to wear normal clothes and look alright in them!

Yes this is my issue... I want to look at clothes and fit them properly!

My weight averages out at 9st7 which I think makes me about right for bmi, maybe on the lardy side as I am short, I was 10st when I fell pg with ds though, and obviously quite a lot more now coming up 6mo pg!

I'd love to go down to a B, my main reason is I want to be a C cup and most people say they go bigger again. Having said that I'm planning a baby after this one, so maybe I should really have it first so being pg doesn't shoot it back up as I'd be mortified....

Lunavix one of the conditions on which I was allowed my breast reduction on the NHS was that my family was finished. This is mainly to do with the complications which can arise from the production of milk and like you say the changes in size etc. I think if they knew your family wasn't complete the consultant may be reluctant to go ahead.
