From the BBC:

Drink a mug of black coffee (this is the only time you should drink coffee if you're a cystitis sufferer) to help expel urine followed by two large glasses of water to flush out infection. Continue to drink at least one full tumbler of water every 20 minutes until discomfort ceases. Add one level of bicarbonate of soda (unless you suffer from heart problems) to the first glass to relieve burning pain.
Keep warm and take rest. A hot water bottle front and back may help.
A warm bath with five drops of lavender or juniper essential oil added may ease discomfort.
Light circular massage of the abdomen can ease pain.
Take a urine specimen to your doctor for analysis.
If prescribed antibiotics, take a probiotic supplement (containing Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidus) to restore healthy bacteria during the course and for a week after it's completed.

yes if you don't want to go out, don't, and just drink absolutely loads of water. I don't know how far you need to go either as I don't know where you live - if it's a long way then Beetroot is right.

also enid, I know your bfeeding but you can have co-codamol and brufen.
Take some pain killers dont over do the water if your wee legs ae swollen, but do make an effort to drint more. I would be inclined to get to the gp if your symptoms persist past tomorrow as you could have a UTI.

lol very funny

tiredness not helped by farmer planting maize in the field next to our house at 4am (very noisy tractor, mega wattage beam lights). I had to get up and shout at him.
