Anyone know anything about wisdom teeth removal and recovery time?

I had all four teeth removed yesterday. I feel OK, just a little sore but otherwise fine. I am supposed to be doing a sponsored run this weekend and just wondered whether it's safe to do so? Everything I've read online seems to suggest you should keep your heart rate low until the blood clot is formed but I do feel as though I could run.

thanks

I'm a runner and I wouldn't do it. The low heart rate thing makes sense. But as much as anything I think the up and down movement would feel pretty awful pretty quickly. When I had mine out (about 20 years ago, so am admittedly a bit hazy), I remember that swelling and stiffness started to set in more after a couple of days had gone by. I appreciate that it's sponsored and everything - if it's 5k or less, could you walk it?

I would give it a week to 2 wks. Mouths heal very quickly but if you've had all four out in one go (commiserations - must have been horrible), I'd give the run a rest.

all you can do is a low key test run. as a veteran of oral surgery (inc wisdom teeth, but "only" two sideways impacted ones) I'd say wait 10 days. the pounding and pain is horrible and takes a good while to wear off again, feels like you can't/shouldn't move your head and in my case makes me feel seasick Hmm If the run is at all avoidable I'd say give it a miss, but only you can know for sure. I did something similar a week after surgery and for the first 10 minutes it was fine. then it really wasn't nice.
hope you have a nice speedy recoverySmile

As someone who moved across the country and started uni the day after having two impacted wisdom teeth out I can heartily recommend waiting a bit.
