B vitamins: Is taking a multivitamin with B vitamins just as effective as taking a dedicated vitamin B tablet?

Or is the RDA not as high? Trying to get my vitamin Bs up as much as possible by taking a multivitamin, but should I take a dedicated vitamin Bs tablet instead?

Thank you

They're all different so you'll need to check the labels.

B vitamins are water soluble so aren't stored in the body. Any excess is excreted (check for yellow pee!) so you can probably take extra alongside a multivitamin.

That applies to compound vitamin b, I think if you just take b6 you need to be a bit careful, but iirc any bad effects are reversible.

Is there a particular reason why you are trying to get your B vitamins up? I have pernicious anaemia and can not absorb B12 so no amount of oral B vits would make a difference so i have injections prescribed. I also have low folate, but can absorb that so take separate exclusive folate tablet.
