I've found a small lump on my breast...

I found a small lump on my breast last night and have made an appointment to see my GP on Wednesday but I'm just looking for a bit of moral support until then. The lump is quite small (pea sized), doesn't hurt when I touch it and is about 1-2cm from the nipple. I'm trying not to think the worst as it could be nothing but I've never had anything like this before so am a bit worried. Any words of wisdom to keep me on an even keel until Wednesday? My DH is away with work this week so I don't want to worry him unnecessarily if I can avoid it which means keeping it to myself for now. Thanks xx

It could be a blocked milk duct? Also my friends mum got mastitus at the age of 54, spending too much time with her first grandchild! these things are possible. xx

Having worked in a Breast Care Centre for seven years, I do know that 9 out of 10 lumps are benign. Try not to worry too much until you know what the lump actually is - easier said than done, I know. Sending best wishes...
