Hi

Anyone know how long it takes for this steroid to kick in whwn given to asthmatic.

usually 24 hours the course is 6 days iirc.

have checked in british national formulary(book of pharmaceuticals)it doesn't give exact time but assuming you've been given a short oral course of a reasonably high dosage, it shouldn't take long as quite fast acting! depends really on how bad asthma is , use of other meds/inhalers, what dose prescribed, how long course is for, if you take it regularly etc etc I think if concerned or really want to know give GP call when the sun comes up! Night!
