stitches after birth

Has anyone had stitches after a normal delivery? I had them after DC1 as DC was a big baby, after the birth of DC2 I didn't get them, they said I was ok, however, everything down there seems very loose, this is way too much info but its really worrying me, what should I do? If I go back to GP will they make me go back for more stitches? DC2 is 6 months old now, please help?

I had a couple of stitches after ds1 and although I tore in the same place with ds2 and 3 I didn't have stitches. However when I was being examined at a later date my gynae said everything was a bit "open" Sorry TMI!! She also said I deserved a good repair job! So I shall be nipped and tucked this summer eek!!

I had stitches with dd1 due episiotomy...still shudder at the thought!
Had no stitches with dd2 at all and felt normal again within about 6 weeks.
If you still feel uncomfortable or thigns aren't right you really need to go to your gp. Don't know what they'll advise but at least you'll have some options offered to you and know if you need some treatment or not.

I had loads of stiches with ds. I tore inside near my cervix as well as on the perineum and needed a spinal and surgery after the birth to repair it. I felt that everything was loose and not back to normal for ages. Mind you I must be the first woman who found this a relief as sex before having ds was often a bit tight and uncomfortable for me. Afterwards it was much better - though I'm not sure that was true for dh - poor thing !!

It was only about 12 months after the birth that things are what I would call more normal now. I did a load of those pelvic exercises though so they may have helped. Def go and see your GP if it is a problem but they will probably start by recommending pelvic exercises.

I thought they may say that about the pelvic floor exercises, I tried really hard with them both times and stuck to them religiously! This time I even purchased one of those machine things that are meant to help too as things didn't feel right. The main reason really is for DP he too has noticed and I'm worried that he doesn't feel the same way about me anymore. Both of the pregnancies were unplanned, but the second one wasn't such a shock as the first, we had talked about having another baby, he wasn't too good during the second pregnancy and has had little to do with baby, he also didn't bother with me much during the pregnancy, he said at one point that he 'hated pregnant women'! Talk about how to make you feel S*!
