Anyone suffer from it? I don't mean Vaginal Thrush, the whole caboodle.

I've seen on the internet it's not actually a recognised western problem.

Anyway if you do, how did you treat it?

Now i have found and really believe that is what i have i am relieved and paying it more respect.

My secretary has been told that she has it. She also has a lot of other health problems that may or may not be related to it. I think her chiropractor recommended a certain supplement but not sure of the exact one.

fairyfly... I was diagnosed with full blown Candia Albicans yonks ago (in Germany)... I had been unwell for ages, ranging from just picking up everything to so horrid stomach cramps that I kept doubling over. Had lots of doctors treating the symptoms but not the cause iykwim. Till finally I found one brilliant gyno who went 'oh it's so obvious what's wrong with you and now your immune system is down too'... oh joy!

He put me on a strict sugar/yeast free diet for 6 months and also I had to take some medication to treat the 'infection'. It was some horrid orange liquid stuff no idea what it was called. Also had to desinfect everything at home, microwave my underwear etc.

Good thing about it... I was rather chunky and lost weight. Bad thing about it... I was so longing for fruit, bread etc. also it's amazing where the put sugar in! I though hey I can eat gherkins... well think again!

After 6 months I was in the clear and 15kg lighter!

I had full blown Candida Albicans after I had glandular fever in my early twenties. I was riddled with it, throat & mouth covered in it, skin everywhere covered in it - was really awful.
I was prescribed nystatin to take orally, which helped but I also made a real effort to boost my immune system and beat Candida from inside my own body.
I stopped drinking beer & wine, cut out yeast based products such as normal bread, tried to cut back on sugary foods & ate lots of garlic & probiotic yoghurts. I also took Vit B supplements & acidopholus & aloevera pure pressed juice.
I definitely got a grip of it, but it is one of my weakenesses & I will notice it start to creep back in again when I am eating badly & run down.
Ask away if you have any Qs Fairyfly.
