Anyone had a Transcervical resection of endometrium op?

I've been referred for a TCRE and just wondered if anyone had any experience of this, what difference it made etc.

I've had heavy, painful periods for years and years now, and tried the Mirena coil, which had some nasty side effects for me - I have lung disease and hormonal contraception appears to upset the balance and make me worse. So the next step is TCRE. My gynae also says I have advanced cervical erosion so a cauterization can be done of this at the same time while under general.

I'm a bit anxious, but only in terms of the fact that I'm a bit of a risk with a GA because of my lung condition. Would be interested to hear how successful this op is and any side/after effects. I'd be particularly interested to hear if the op sorts out the pain as well as the heavy bleeding. Gynae doctor said that if this op doesn't help with the pain I should consider a hysterectomy.
