TMI. Diarreah....

Not sure about this as dd has never had it before.
She was going more than normal yesterday and her bum was quite red but the "outgoings" were ok IYSWIM.
Today it has turned to diarreah.
If it wasn't for her age I'd say it was teething as her bum has now blistered like it does with a teething rash and she's leaking bits without noticing.

I can't think what could have caused it unless it's just a 24hr bug but she seems fine otherwise.
Should I avoid giving her certain food or drink or just carry on as normal?

I forgot to add that she's 2.6 and fully toilet trained but I've had to put a nappy on her due to the accidents and to keep the cream from smearing everywhere.

Would pants be better?

Not sure I can help much except to say that my little one (much younger @ 7 months) is going through some sort of viral infection at the moment - started off as vomitting, now terrible diarreah. I called NHS Direct (can't remember phone number but found it on their website) and they were great. You should speak to them about your specific case (they told me to continue feeding as usual and to be very wary of dehydration) but they will go through a thorough list of questions with you to assertain best course of action for you.

Sorry this is so late, only just seen your post.
I'd give it 24 hours, and if there's no improvement ring your GP or NHS and ask for advice.
In the meantime, perhaps keep to dry food like toast and encourage to drink plenty of fluids (water, no fruit juice!).
Probably just a bug, but GP will know if there's something nasty going around.
Stick to nappy.
