bleeding after sex. I am panicking

my sil died from cervical cancer 5 years ago aged 35. I have blead after sex the last 3 Times. my oh has just read an article about cervical cancer and asked me to go to the gp. I have booked in this afternoon but I am panicking now. I am on the coil and I take Prozac (20mg). could these course bleeding. has anyone else had this and its been nothing major

Had to go to Drs twice in the last 10 years for this - was polyps both times. Had them taken out at the hospital - v quick (and pretty common). Dr may be able to see them (some GPs take them out at the surgery). Try not to worry.

Don't panic! Just get yourself checked out.

I have had bleeding after sex, and I panicked. Turned out I had a cervical abrasion which I ended up getting cauterised.

I did for a long time - I just had a "friable cervix" which seems to have fixed itself.

I had this problem, had tests all was fine, so was offered the cauterising but it got better on its own.

Sorry to hear about your sil. That's very sad

I have had this at various points in my life, got checked and turns out I have a weak cervix, which is why my babies were all born prem. sometimes it gets a little damaged during certain types of sex it is not always really bad news.

I've had it a couple of times and been ok, good luck and let us know how you get on

I had this too. Turned out to be pelvic inflammatory disease from the coil.

I had this problem and it was caused by fibroids.

i went to the gp and he said to have my smear ( booked for the 31st). it may be a polyp or an erosion. if it is cancerous cells they will only be pre cancer as i have had a clear smear 3 years ago. i have not blead since which is a good sign.

i feel better now and will wait for my smear, my sil didnt have a smear for 10 years so i am aware that it does develop slowly as the gp explained
