Got to go for a lung function test

as part of the build up to me having my tonsils out they want to check my lung function and then my oxygen levels overnight. If they are low then I might have to have CPAP at home.

What's CPAP?

Yorkiegirl · 21/04/2006 20:43

continuous positive airway pressure
Basically a machine which blows air into your lungs through your nose and makes sure you don't stop breathing. Preemie babies are often on it. I would have it as last time I was in the sleep clinic I stopped breathing 11 times in the night.

Ahhh! The thing you have that makes you look like a nelliphant when you sleep!

Drastic! Are you worried?

Yorkiegirl · 21/04/2006 20:45

not really worried. Just want to have my tonsils out as they really cause me a problem. Fed up of getting tonsilitis

Is it the tonsils that causes your sleep apnoea?
DH thinks he gets it...Do you feel knackered in the morning?

Am permanently tired. Yes I know having small kids makes you tired, but not tired like this!
