Does anyone know if acidophulus can be given to a 7 mo old and is it affective? My ds is recovering from a bout of D & V and seems to be cow's milk intolerant at the moment. Seem some sugestion that acidophulus can work?

D&V bashes the digestive system quite hard and it can take a while to recover.
His system simply isn't up to digesting dairy at the moment - it's unlikely to be a long term intolerance. Stick to fairly bland food - rice, bananas, toast and honey etc (you haven't said where he's at with weaning at the mo - he may be reluctant to have solids for a while).
Not too much fruit and def no dairy till 24h after last puke / runny poo.

Wouldn't self-dose a babe that tiny with acidophilus myself - if it's that bad might be worth seeing GP / HV.

he's not very far along weaning stage. Takes rice, fruit, cereal, sweet potato and butternut.
He is okay eating solids and keeps them down no problem. We are on Soya formula for now, wondering how to build up digestive system? Or how long milk intolerance could last?
