Does this sound like a virus and, if yes, do you know what it is please?

I have had something wrong with me this week and I honestly don't know what it is.

It started last weekend (Saturday night) with extreme fatigue, muscle aches and a tight feeling chest with unproductive cough. I also had stomach cramps but no nausea.

On Monday I felt a little better but by Tuesday morning I was bed ridden with constant diarrhoea and all over cramps and slightly feverish. I couldn't sleep as my back hurt so much and this continued until Wednesday evening when I finally made it out of bed to the sofa. Since then I have felt really tired all the time and still have the odd stomach cramp. I have eaten and no diarrhoea but not solid iykwim.

I am an emetophobe and have been extremely anxious about catching the norovirus so I wondered if it was some kind of stress related thing but I still don't have much of an appetite and don't feel right.

I know this isn't life threatening but I was wondering if anyone else had had this and how long it took until they felt better?

Thank you.

thank you belgian

it doesn't sound like noro does it? I am definitely over the worst now but just feel blah. I swear, everywhere I go I hear people talking about noro and it's ramping up the anxiety all the time.

Hope you're okay, will pop over to t'other thread later on.

It sounds like flu to me :/

ItsOkayItsJustMyBreath · 11/01/2013 20:01

No, definitely not flu thank god. I would've passed the £20 note challenge (in between toilet trips Blush) and I've had the flu jab. I am at a loss as to what it is though and don't want to pass it on to ds so have been very careful with hygiene.

Hmmmm (scratches head....) well actually it could be the dreaded noro, even without vomiting. There is a new mutation causing the majority of cases, apparently...

Do you think so? Although the thought of it petrifies me more than words can say, another part of me thinks well, if it was then I got off really lightly and with no v*ing. I still have stomach ache though Sad

Thank you narmada
