Is ferritin of 40 on the low side?

Hi

Had blood tests done as completely knackered and hair falling out all over the place. Thyroid fine. HB 137.

Serum ferritin is 40 and normal range given as 20-239. Obviously it's normal but is it near enough to the low end to be causing the problems? Slightly confused by the various posts on here so would welcome advice from anyone who knows more about this than me!

Hair still falling out and still knackered Smile

Many thanks.

Im so glad to find this post even though it was posted over 4 years ago. I thought i was going crazy. My ferritin is 35 and im so exhausted. I seem to get more exhausted after periods. It would be great to know if anyone has felt relief. Im now taking floradix and a multi vitamin. Thanks x

You need llysene 500 mg a day too to help your iron be absorbed. And 500 mg vit c. And don’t drink tea or coffee near iron supplements
