Most places Ive looked are suggesting that DS (2.5) should have all his teeth by now, but he is still missing the second molar in all quadrants.

Anyone? Chicagomum?

Have heard of lots of children teething at this age. Did his other teeth come in late? DD has 3 out of the 4 through (she is 23 months) but my children have both been early teethers and DD had her other 16 by 13 months so had quite a big time lag before getting these.

DS is 5.2 and has two sizeable adult teeth already. OTOH my nephew is 1.2 and has only 6 teeth.

Don't worry about it. When you read in books that by such and such an age your child should have sprouted x number of teeth, what it means is - they did a survey looking at hundreds of infants, they took an average and that is what they state. Therefore of all those kids some got them before that age and some after. Even if the other teeth came through at the "right" age it doesn't mean anything is wrong with the last few. (it is very rare for teeth to be absent or not erupt). HTH
