Any dentists out there?

I´ve recently had to change dentist and had a full check up. Although x-rays show nothing, the dentist says he can see decay under my sealants (put on more than 20 years ago) and I should have at least one mini filling, maybe more, depending on what he finds under the first sealant. I don´t understand how if the x-rays show up no decay why I need work. So far, I have perfect teeth with no fillings and I´m not sure if this guy is just maintaining his lifestyle. What do you think? He also wants to smooth over some rough edges, something my previous dentist recommended against.

Well without seeing your teeth or the xrays it is hard to say anything. Depending on the amount and position of decay it may not show up on and xray but could be visible to the naked eye. If you are unhappy get a second opinion. Can't give any other advice I am afraid.

Thanks Teacups and ChicagoMum; I´ll go for a second opinion!
