Just doing a little preventative worrying here .

My very elderly mother had terrible scratchy voice on Christmas Eve .
GP dealt with on phone and said probably virus .

She now has cough and cold and seems quite unwell ( not eating ,even more tired than normal ,snappy ) though is saying she's getting better .But I suspect that's because she fears GP involvement which in her mind will lead to hospital swiftly followed by work house .

But she wont articulate that , so hard to guess which particular fears I need to be allaying .

That aside I'm worried that it will progress to a chest infection and wonder what to do to try and stave this off .

Also worried because GP said on phone that throat was likely to be an viral infection and therefore nothing they could do .
So thinking if becomes viral chest infection ,there will also be nothing they can do ....
