New moles, and occasional blood filled tiny dots - ??

I am getting this looked at next week but in the meantime anytime I am getting a bit neurotic.

I have about four flat moles (ugh) on one of my nipples and they are a tiny bit speckled in places. I also have two raised but pale ones that have emerged by my right ear. I was brought up in a hot climate and, when I was younger, was quite relaxed about being cautious in the sun. I am now sensible but do, even though the opportunity is VERY rare, sunbathe. Due to my recent finds I am now worrying myself sick!!

Add to that, I have the occasional tiny - think pin prick - red dot appear on my skin which contains blood which are now adding to my neurosis!

Daren't Google as feel as if that may make things worse, but off loading here instead. I had DS 7 months ago so am wondering if its more pregnancy hormone related as know moles can go darker etc and reckon its been there a while.

The red dots have a name which escapes me, I have a few but one sort of got a bit horrible (it grew) and it was very visible, so it was removed as a precaution and I got all my moles checked at the same time. The nurse that checked me thought I had got them because of sun exposure, I am very pale and not keen on sunbathing, but I wouldn't have been careful when I was younger. You are doing the right thing getting them checked, although I would try not to worry.

Campbell de Morgan are the red spots.

Thanks! I have been once before as I thought one might look iffy but the GP said that as long as it doesn't change it is sore or bleeding its okay, but its still at the back, okay front, of my mind . Ironically, I am normally very level headed about all things medical too (have lifelong medical condition.)

Good to know the red dot thing isn't too unusual too! Seemed a bit weird why they may appear - or is it just one of those things?

(Even the word 'mole' I find a bit urgh tbh!)

I have had lots of moles all my life, some light brown and some dark brown, all various sizes.
At the age of 39, I noticed a very large, very black one on my arm. But thought no more about it. It did not itch or bleed.
It was diagnosed by my german gyny as a dangerous melanoma, which was taken out just in time.
All my other moles are soft and that one was hard and shiny.

I have them too, an age thing, I'm 42, delightfull! I had quite a few moles removed after I had my two children, quite common for them to change/get bigger when pregnant, some of mine were much more prominant! The Dr who removed them was called Dr Cattermole!!

Thanks all for your replies. Moles - horrid things aren't they? Hopefully it's a pregnancy related thing but guess I better get checked all the same.

Can they be removed, if they need to be, at the GP's surgery or does it have to be out patients?

I've got some red dots, definitely age related.
I'm also covered in moles, as are my DC (part of our greek heritage) i was once told by a GP that if she removed the dodgy looking ones i'd end up looking like a patchwork Luckily i'm not with her anymore..
I too got one on a nip (and inside belly button) when i was pregnant, neither went away.

My mums' had a few removed at the GPs.

My understanding is as long as they're not sore, itch or bleed, increase in size or depth rapidly, or are no bigger then the top of a pencil they're generally ok.
Another thing i found out is i had always thought if they had a hair growing out of them they were ok, but it isn't necessarily so.

Do get them checked just to be on the safe side, but im sure it'll be fine

I too have some light brown spongy type larger moles, which are fine and they too have a hair growing out of it. My Melanoma was raised and hard and had no hair growing out of it. Mine was pure black, that was the only thing that stuck in my mind as being unusual. Was also large. A skin specialist must remove malignant moles not GP.
Skin tags are harmless, but so annoying. < are warts>
