I posted last week about bleeding before the end of a packet of pills, but I couldn't get in to see my doctor (typical). I have now come to the end of my packet, but I am still bleeding, which makes it a week now. I am worried as this just doesn't seem like a normal period. There just seems to be masses and masses of bright red blood, no real clots (sorry), and i feel awful. I have lost quite a considerable bit of weight this week for no apparent reason and I feel so feverish, with a real headache and I feel like I am constantly about to be sick. Can anyone help put my mind at rest? And what should I do to help my headache and temperature go away?
Thanks, I do tend to get myself worried over things, but this just isn't normal for me :(

really sorry don't can't offer any thoughts or advice - but wanted to bump this for you.

first of all, phone GP first thing tomorrow and insist on an emergency appointment (it is worthy of one!)

secondly, you may be feeling sick because of your bad headache (mine do that to me) and if so, take some nurofen - it's probably the best thing for fever/headache/pain but try and have something small to eat (or even some milk) so your tummy has something in it before you take the nurofen (will be kinder to your tum then!)

I used to bleed excessively when I was only on the progesterone pill. Is yours the combined pill?

It sounds miserable, and I would definitely go to the doctor first thing (not wanting to worry you, and have no idea what it could be - just don't think you should leave it.)

Hi, I would phone NHS Direct to ask advice. if they are no help, get yourself to A&E - best to get this sort of thing sorted out, you can't go on the way you are. Hugs to you and let us know how you get on.

Do you have an NHS walk-in centre nearby? Or can you ring NHS Direct? Alternatively, could you see a GP in the morning?

I had bleeding towards the end of a packet a few times, but never any other problems. It might just be that your pill doesn't suit, even if you have been on it for some time. I'd just go to the doctors to be on the safe side (bear in mind that headaches, changes in weight and bleeding are side-effects of your pill not suiting you).

Hope you feel better soon, and that you get it resolved.

marvelon is the combined pill. Go to the docs. I used to bleed all the time in the middle of cycles on Marvelon.
