I have had them also and my two sisters (palpitations?)

My older sister had them really bad and ended up having a small op

She used to end up having to sit down and just to suffer quite badly, she is ok now, just the odd flutter!

I just have it now and gain, like a few fast beats, can last up to 5 seconds approx, sometimes i feel a bit funny

I wouldn't worry unless it was happening lots

I went through a stage where I was getting loads of palpatations & went to the doctor about them.
I had lots of tests/blood tests, but there was nothing major wrong.
They have calmed now, but I know they are very common & can be caused by caffeine, stress, alcohol & lots of other things.
Try not to worry!

I had an ECG adn cardiogram done for the same and they decided I had sinus arrhythmia, basically an irregular heartbeat (No shit, Sherlock!Grin) Was told it was no problem.
