My boobs hurt.
I'm bloated.
I could just cry.
I have the red rage.
My cycles are all over the map. Anywhere from 19 days to 31. CD 23 today.

I feel fucking horrible.

Come whinge with me.

Not just you -you have my sympathy.
I have been stroppy and ratty for over a week now (was due on the 24th) and my period could come tonight, or in 2 weeks !

My cycle is 25 days- 60 days and I never have a clue what's going on.
I tried Fluoxetine when I got desperate, regarding my mood swings and anger. It really did help.

FairyArmadillo · 26/12/2012 21:08

I had PMT for Christmas. It wasn't fun. I hate having PMT. If you have any tried and tested methods, medication to make you less of a bitch please share!

Just re-read last post. How does one get fluoxetine? Prescription?

siblingrivalry · 26/12/2012 21:59

Yeah, my GP said it's sometimes prescribed for PMS when it starts to interfere with your daily life.
I really found that it calmed it all down.

I have had PMT over the past few days, too and I really didn't like myself.

FairyArmadillo · 27/12/2012 00:09

I'm honestly thinking of phoning the surgery tomorrow to get an appointment and asking for this! I've tried evening primrose, vitamin B, fresh air and exercise. If they can give me a pill for this I'll take it. PMT is no joke. Everything gets on my nerves. I even cancel seeing people when I'm in full swing.

blondietinsellyminx · 27/12/2012 00:16

I had PMT which coincided with wrapping rage - DH was a bit Hmm at my lack of Christmas spirit!

Cycles also erratic here so when I got my period on Christmas Eve I was not impressed.

LineRunner · 27/12/2012 00:18

Is fluoxetine aka prozac?

OComeAllYeFaithBaby · 27/12/2012 00:25

Yup my GP offered me fluoxetine (prozac) to take just around the PMS time. I found two things really helped me (I'm currently pregnant so different ball game!) - low carb diet and a magnesium supplement. I couldn't believe the difference!

LineRunner · 27/12/2012 00:28

I had the wrapping rage on the 23rd!

OrangeLily · 27/12/2012 00:36

Aaaaahhh to the erratic cycles

Last few have been 32 days and 66 days. Currently on day 41 of current cycle and getting so frustrated by it all. We're TTC and its really getting me down. Sad

Jacksmania · 27/12/2012 16:44

So how many days would you take the fluoxetine for? There's no withdrawal? What's the dose?

I think I might have a chat with the GP. I can't cope being like this.

I'm having a big glad it's not just me moment. I really, really hate who I am when I have PMT. Shouty mum, no sense of humour, enraged when the self service till in the Co Op tells me once more to put my item in the bag. It isn't funny! PMT ruined Christmas Day for me : (

Jacksmania · 27/12/2012 20:35

We should start a Raging PMT quiche.

I have days when I just don't want to be me anymore. :(

LineRunner · 27/12/2012 20:40

I only ever had fluoxetine for PND (it was very good) for six months.

Never got any sympathy or help from GP over periods, PMT, etc. Keep meaning to change surgeries...
