Worried im pregnant reassure me

I know nobody can tell me if i am or not and only want reassurance about being late. I am 7 days late today. I usually have a 28-29 day max cycle im never later. I took a test yesterday and it was nagative. We have not had unprotected sex that we are aware of, we use condoms and i suppose one could of broken if we had a few drinks but nothing we have noticed, we did mess around a little before putting it on last time though due to sheer stupid drunkness but nothing major and no penetration at all. Ds2 is only just turned 1. I suppose im wondering how common it is to be late like this and NOT pregnant? when you are usually regular?, i have been quite stressed with christmas.

Hi there. Don't let it stress you. You could be late for other reasons. Do you know if/when you ovulated? If you ovulated later then af will be later (approximately 14 days after ov). Ovulation can be delayed by stress or just random unknown reasons.

If you were pregnant it wouldn't be the end of the world... would it? I purposely conceived my DS2 when DS1 had just turned one. 21 months between them. It's great having them close.

Leave it a few days, try to forget about it then test again.
What would your OH think if you were pg?

Keep me posted x

StressedOutMumma · 23/12/2012 21:57

Thanks melody. Im really not sure when i ovulated but i have been quite stressed this month. ds1 has mild SN so is hard work, ds2 is a lovable but hard work toddler, i was ill with a vomiting bug a couple of weeks ago and now have some sort of viral thing sore throat etc so its been a tough month on the body. I really dont want another baby for physical, emotional and financial reasons but yes it wouldnt be the end of the world we would cope, would be difficult though.
Dh feels like me, not what he wants but will support me 100%

i was expecting my period a few weeks ago, and still nothing and defo not pregnant.

HOWEVER! my body is still quite messed up from injection, so i am blaming it on that!

Melody3boys · 23/12/2012 22:13

If you were ill a couple of weeks ago you may not have ovulated at that time.

It sounds like you have good support from DH so that's good. I don't think there's ever a perfect time for a baby to come along.

I have a very strong faith which makes me very black and white about these things. I see it that no baby comes along that wasn't planned by God. I know that may not help if you don't have such beliefs. Sorry.

X

TwoFacedCows · 23/12/2012 22:15

melody, i wish god would plan one for me!!! Wink

StressedOutMumma · 23/12/2012 22:17

Oh really, well hopefully thats what happened, ive never been so desperate to see my period. Yes dh will help me through it no matter what. I dont have any faith, i respect yours though so dont be sorry. I know i have options to consider but im very unlikely to be able to live with that so if i am then its far more likely that what will be will be.

since April, so compared to lots not long, but I am impatient and this will be my first and only!

Melody3boys · 23/12/2012 23:03

Still long enough when you're stuck in the middle if it. I sort of know how you feel but not with the same desperation. I conceived quickly with my first few then for the next it took what seemed like an eternity (4 months TTC = MMC, 2 months TTC = ds1, 1 month TTC = ds2, 14 months TTC = ds3). There really is no rhyme nor reason to it sometimes.

But, and I found this impossible to believe when I was desperately TTC ds3, once I relaxed about it, that's when I fell pg - we said we'd give it a year then forget about it. Well, the year ran out I had to come to peace about not having a third. We didn't start using contraception again but we weren't at it like rabbits (as we had been in previous months!) and bingo! I'm not saying it's a magic formula but there was some truth in it for me.

StressedOutMumma · 24/12/2012 11:01

Thank you for all the replies last night. I took another test at 6am this morning, negative. At 9.30am my period started Grin so it was 8 days late, first time ive ever been late and not pregnant in my life i am SO SO relieved. Dh and i have learnt a lesson though and hes going to see about getting a vasectomy after the year, we will never take any stupid risks at all again, lesson learnt.

Thanks again.

Ps i now have crippling period pains as well so think my bodys trying to teach me a lesson!
