Dogbite!........Anti-b's?

Got bitten by a blooming dog this morning - I seem to attract wayward dogs.

I've cleaned it up and it looks OK - should I get anti-b's or is a dogbite a wait and see type thing?

Don't think so Fio Sad - I'm not going to need one of them as well am I. Bloody yappy Jack Russell it was (well a little gang of them actually)

definitely need a tetanus. I had one after being bitten as mine wasn't up to date.

You need a tetanus jab laydee - Go get one now - No offence to any owners of the little blighters, but I can't stand Jack Russels - Nasty little yappy bitey vicious things - Every sympathy to you SMBK - Hope it wasn't a bad bite and it heals quickly, poor thing! Sad Smile

Don't know Bozza - just thought maybe I would need them - Didn't enter my head about a tetanus. I suppose tetanus is a good idea - they were from a farm so could be carrying anything - I'll probably get foot and mouth Wink

Get your GP surgery to check your tetanus status depending on the severity of the wound and wether you've had sufficient tetanus vaccs will decide wether you need another one. On the abs front it is a wait and see although dog bites are notorious for becoming infected, if its severe the GP might give them as a precaution anyway. HTH

20-odd years since I've had a tetanus so have been to the walk-in centre to be jabbed. Got to go back for anti-b's if there is any sign of infection over the next few days. It's a bit painful now.

Dog bites require antibiotics. There are alsorts of nastys in a dogs mouth and you wouldnt want to risk infection.
You should definately have a tetanus too preferably within 24 hours.

whops just realised you alredy got treated, cant belive the left you with out antibioticsShock
they must have thought the dog brushed its teeth before it bit you!!!

I'll keep a close eye on it. Dd recently had a wound infection that took weeks to shift - I'll not let this one go the same way.

Seriously please get this seen to, I had a dog bite 5 years ago and as I wasn't given enough antibiotics I had to have my arm operated on to clear the infection. I then had to have the wound dressed every day for 4 months! Good luck
