If one of your breasts is sore?

Do you go to the GP? One of my breasts has been aching and a bit sore for about a month. Its nt very painful just feels a bit bruised when touched and when lying on my front is a bit unomfortable and sore. I can't feel any lumps. It feels vaguely like they dd when I was pregnant - which I am not!

Is this something I should get checked out? DH says I should.

Mine was sore for a couple of months so I saw the GP who couldn't find anything wrong but referred me to our local breast clinic.

Appointment came through within a couple of weeks. I had a mammogram, and ultrasound as well as being examined by a consultant. The verdict is that is was hormonal pain, nothing to worrying about unless symptoms change.

Always worth getting checked though.

Thanks everyone - yes it is slightly bigger than the other one and I dont think it used to be.

Oh I didn't see this before I posted my own thread,
I am feeling something similar to what you describe, mine is a short sharp pain in the side of my breast. I was at the GP last week and he's insisted I get it checked, got the appointment for this weds at the breast clinic where I'll be scanned.
Better to get it checked out x

I had this, just in one breast, and I worked out it was because my bra was too tight. I got new bras and it went away. Then when I was pregnant it came back. Again, got new bras in a bigger size and it went away again.

Hi lavender Hope you get a quick appointment at the hospital if the GP decides to send you -he/she probably will even if just for a scan.

Glad you managed to solve it barbie I don't think mine is from the fit but I'm going to try and find somewhere that measures here where I live, just to rule it out.

Hi again dondon. Been to gp today and she is sending me for a scan. Mamogram and ultrasound - but she suspects it is a cyst as she couldnt feel any lumps. Hope your scan goes okay.

Brilliant lavender at least you know you'll get to the bottom of it.
Thanks, just wish weds would be here and get it done, They have to scan for my lymph nodes in my armpit on the same side too, apparently mine have took a leave of absence Xmas Confused :) but I think that's a good thing if they're not raised.
Honestly I want to be reborn as a man, no boobs, no womb, no hormones = no bloody problems!!

Hi Lavender, I just had my scan today, should of been weds but the clinic fecked up overbooked and wanted me to wait until February Xmas Shock obviously that was never going to happen so I went to another clinic today.
Anyway, result is- I have a very tiny cyst in the area I feel the pain and something about my breast tissue reacting to my hormones (possibly she said over reacting but Dr's language is not my native tongue) I'm so relieved :)
