I noticed dd was itching so she had a vaginal swab and has strep B - got a prescription.

I don't know anything about this in a toddler - can anyone give me any info?

Many people carry group B strep in their bodies, but they do not become sick or have any symptoms. People can have group B strep in the bowel, vagina, bladder, or throat.
It is a bacteria naturally colonised in the bowel. This does not mean she is infected with it, just that she carries it, Nor is it a sexually transmited disease.

In this instance, The likelyhood is that she has carried strep b in her bowel and it has infected a vaginal cut or scratch. Have some repeat swabs done when she has finished and talk to your GP about the long term imlpications (if any) you will probably just have to be extra cautious with her hand hygiene etc.
